Question about 2002 Pontiac Grand Am

02 Grand Am SE Instrument lights, fog lights don't work

My guage lights, Window Controll Lights, Ac Controll lights, Shifter lights, and fog lights do not work. All waring and overhead lights work and the "Service Vehicle Soon" light is on. I checked all the fuses under hood and on both passenger and driver side doors with a circuit tester but no luck. This happened after I took out the turn signal multifunction switch to clean it so the infamous clicking would go away. I cleaned it by taking out all but one screw and prying it appart about 1/4" on the turn signal arm side and then I sprayed electrical degreaser and then electrical lubricant in and reinstalled.

There is a 10amp fuse located in the fuse box under the R/S instrument panel end cap cover.
Open the passenger door, remove the cover, if I remember correctly it is held in place with clips.
The Illumination fuse probobly blew when you were working on the multifunction switch, it happens.
Good luck, let me know if there is any thing further.

Dash and shifter lights in 1996 jeep cherokee wont light

Hello and welcome to FixYa . Locate the dial that controls the brightness of the dashboardlights. If the control is not immediately evident. Make sure the brightness control is turned on. If it is and the lights aren't working, the problem may be a bad fuse. Check the fuse that controls the dashboard lights Replace the fuse if necessary. If just one part of the instrument panel is not lighting up, then you have either a burned-out bulb or a wiring problem.

02 Grand Am Gt Instrument lights dont work

this is caused by your dash light "dimmer" either going bad, or coming un-plugged due to recent work (like stereo or alarm installation usually).. if it is unplugged - plug it in, if it is plugged in, order one from the dealer or just get one from a wrecking yard. If you have had a new stereo installed right before this happened, make sure to have them also check their wiring.
