Question about 1997 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup

S-10 Pick Up Wont Start

My 1999 S10 Pick up will not start. Could it be the fuel pressure regulator . It was jacked up while I replaced rear end. When I finished it wouldn't start. Acts like it is flooded. After a few days it started right up. Jacked it up again to replace rear end becuz Belltech messed up the leaf spring labels so had to redo the job. After it was taken off the jack, it now won't start so I am back to square one. Do you know what the problem could be?
Thanks

Did you pinch your gas line or break continuity in the fuel pump wiring? If it ran fine before, I would check your fuel line and wiring. Goes along the inside of the drivers side frame rail. YOu also could have jacked it up at the right angle where sentiment in the tank settled somewhere to where the fuel pump sucked it up. Make sure when you turn the key on, wait to turn the engine over and see if you hear the fuel pump purging the system.

99 s10 long crank when warm, starts ok in a.m.,have replaced fpr and fuel pump

pull the vacuum line from the pressure regulator and see if fuel drips out if so the fuel coming threw will bleed down the fuel pressure causing harder starting also flooding out some of the cylinders

Fuel Pressure Regulator

not sure on an s10 but it should be close to the same position as a full size truck. Should be in the engine compartment, drivers side on top of the motor on the fuel rail. Held in by a snap ring or a c ring. When you buy your part, ask the salesman and they should be able to tell you for sure.

1999 Chevy S10 cranks but wont start

A very common problem on the 99 S10 is a leaky fuel pressure regulator in the intake plenum. What happens is when the truck sits for a few hours or more the regulator leaks all of the fuel in the fuel injection system into the intake air plenum. This does 2 things, 1 it has no fuel pressure when starting and 2 it floods the air intake with raw fuel. Sometimes if you turn the key on wait 3 seconds then turn key off then turn key back on and just turn key to crank starter for a split second and wait 3 seconds.do this 3 times to repressurize fuel system then crank to start(you will hear fuel pump buzz each time you do this.also you may have leaky fuel injectors. Try to crank engine with the gas pedel to the floor. This will tell the computer to stop spraying fuel trhough the injectors and it will start. Joe ASE Master Tech

S10 Won't Start

It would be the fuel pump, it would not be the fuel pressure regulator.

I had my car on an incline while changing my rear end on my S10 (1999) pick up. Now the engine won't start. It turns over but won't start. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem? Thanks

sounds like a completly differant problem happened at about the same time you replaced the rear ,i would go after starting problems, see if you have spark, gas ,compression.
