Need Delco Pass-Key II module for 1993 Buick Riviera

I know this is an outdated part, where can I find an equivalent; local GMAC certified mechanic tells me my module has been burned-out - car will not start without this little goodie. Jim

One of your best bets would be aftermarket or e-bay, try leaving the ign switch in the on position for about 10 mins and then try to start the car

Security fuse 1999 pontiac bonneville

Need a little more info . Security fuse ????? Do you mean anti-theft ? The SECURITY light is lit on the instrument cluster ? Content theft or vehicle theft ?
Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) Description
Ignition Key
The ignition key for vehicles which are equipped with the PASS-Key® II system consists of the following components:
• A typical square ignition key blank
• A resistor pellet
The PASS-Key® II ignition key has the same mechanical key cuts as a non-PASS-Key® II ignition key. You can not service the key blank and resistor pellet separately. There are 15 different ignition key assemblies, each with a different key pellet resistance value.
When you service the PASS-Key® II system, obtain all ignition keys. Verify the proper key code values withJ 35628-A Interrogator.
Steering Column (Ignition) Lock Cylinder
The steering column (ignition) lock cylinder that is used with the PASS-Key® II system contains a set of electrical terminals. The terminals are used to contact the resistor in the ignition key.
The wire routing for the contacts inside the steering column is very critical. When you service the lock cylinder, maintain proper wire routing.
When you replace a steering column lock cylinder, make new keys. The new keys must match the following items:
• The PASS-Key® II code of the PASS-Key® II system
• The mechanical cut of the new steering column (ignition) lock cylinder.

Measure the resistance of the pellet on the key , go to radio shack an buy a resistor of same value an solder into wiring harness .

pulling fuse won't work , power's the PCM as well . Plus software in the PCM won't let it start if it doesn't see input signal from the Theft deterrent module .Take an get it fix right .

How to bypass the pass key II decoder module

If you have the visible chip on the key.(that is actually a resistor) take the key to radio shack and have them measure the resistance of the key. Then buy from radio shack a resistor of the same resustance. Then under the dash coming from the column cut the small yellow wire and the black wire. Now splice your new resistor to the black and yellow wire. Your car should start. I have a video on youtube and there are plenty of others on there also.

Need to know the location of the automatic headlight sensor for a 1993 Buick Riviera Gran Touring

The automatic light sensor is a fish eye bubble on top of the dash.

DO NOT use dash mat,it may cover the sensor and disable the auto brightness feature.

I am having a problem getting my 1993 Buick Riviera into park. Is this a problem I can fix with lubricant or linkage adjustment or do I need to take it to an auto repairman. Is their a linkage diagram...

Linkage may be worn out if you can't reliably get it into park. I would take it to a certified transmission shop or tech and see what can be done about it.

We had a similar problem on a 1980 Chevrolet Suburban that had a worn out linkage inside of the transmission, and it would not go into park very reliably. It had about 100k mi. on it at the time.

1993 buick riviera....stated it and backed out of the garage. shut it off and went inside to get my wallet. Came back out and when I turn the ignition switch......nothing!

Do your head lights come on? If not check your battery connections. If they do then go to the starter and check all connections there. Let me know how you do with this and let me know if thia=s helped or if you need further assistance. Thanks

Just need to know if the pass key system on a 1993 buick lessabre will cause the 3.8 engine to crank but not start no spark aii components replaced including ecm

Have you replaced the ignition module uner the coils. The pass key cuts off the starter and fuel does not effect spark. if you have no spark crank sensor cam sensor ignition module coils and wiring are all that is there.

My buick park avenue 1995 wont start up and keep running. The security light stays on all the time.the coils and the module tested out just fine.

sounds like a problem in the pass key system, you will need to have someone scan the car with a quality scanner to fix the problem
