H7 head light bulb. very easy to replace. the air cleaner box is on the right front and the intake tube is close by. remove either 2 or 3 phillips screws from the upper rad support. remove intake air tubing. then ther should be a rubber cap on outside of headlight assembly, twist bulb out and unplug, install new bulb in opposite order.

DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - HEADLAMP

When a vehicle experiences problems with the headlamp system, verify the condition of the battery connections, fuses, charging system, headlamp bulbs, wire connectors, relay, high beam switch, dimmer switch, and headlamp switch. Refer to the appropriate wiring information.
Each vehicle is equipped with various lamp assemblies. A good ground is necessary for proper lighting operation. Grounding is provided by the lamp socket when it comes in contact with the metal body, or through a separate ground wire.
When changing lamp bulbs check the socket for corrosion. If corrosion is present, clean it with a wire brush.
When it is necessary to remove components to service another, it should not be necessary to apply excessive force or bend a component to remove it. Before damaging a trim component, verify hidden fasteners or captured edges are not holding the component in place. Don't replace parts unless you test an your sure that is the problem. Check the basic's first ! Then find a wiring diagram an see what all is involved , connectors , grounds , power an do a voltage drop test on the circuit to find the problem !An a scan tool would come in handy as well ,to do bi-directional tests !

HEADLAMP SYSTEM

The configuration of the headlamp system of headlamps, park lamps and fog lamps is determined by the BCM. The BCM -body control module determines the lighting configuration as a result of the inputs from the ignition switch, headlamp switch and multi-function switch. A PCI bus-serial data communication network is transmitted from the BCM to the FCM to enable the necessary drivers to set the illumination configuration. Four wires are connected between the headlamp switch and the BCM. The first wire contains information regarding the position of the headlamp switch (Off, Automatic Headlamps, Automatic Headlamp switch fog, Park with Fog, Head, or Head with Fog Lamps). The second wire contains information regarding the position of the dimmer switch (Dome Lamp, Daytime Brightness, Dimming Level or Off). The third wire is a dedicated signal return (ground) wire. The fourth wire provides power to the front fog lamp indicator. You should take this to someone who knows what's up rather then just replacing parts !

I have a 2000 ford mustang can you adjust the headlights and how do you do it

SECTION 417-01: Exterior Lighting 2000 Mustang Workshop Manual GENERAL PROCEDURES Procedure revision date: 12/09/2002 Headlamp Adjustment Headlamp Aiming
  1. The headlamp aiming procedure depends on the type of beam pattern the headlamp is equipped with. Vehicles may come equipped with visual optical right (VOR), visual optical left (VOL), or SAE only (includes sealed beam type) headlamps. To identify the headlamp beam pattern, look on the headlamp lens. Molded in small letters on the headlamp lens is one of the following:
    • SAE
    • VOR or SAE
    • VOL or SAE
  1. Once the headlamp beam pattern is identified, aim the headlamps using one of the following methods as applicable.
    • Photometric aimers can aim SAE, VOR and VOL type headlamps. This is the preferred method of headlamp aiming.
    • Visual or screen method aiming can be used to aim SAE, VOR and VOL type headlamps.
    • Mechanical aimers can be used only with SAE type headlamps. Lamps that can be aimed mechanically will have three nibs molded into the lens of the lamp.
Photometric Aiming
  1. For the photometric aiming procedure, refer to the appropriate photometric headlamp aimer instruction manual.
Screen Method Aiming
All headlamp types
NOTE: Horizontal aim is not necessary for VOR or VOL headlamps.
NOTE: Consult your state vehicle inspection manual for recommended tolerance ranges for visual aiming.
NOTE: The sight shield may need to be positioned or removed for access to the adjusters.
  1. Before starting headlamp adjustment:
    • Check the tire inflation.
    • Check that no other load is in the vehicle other than a half tank of fuel.
    • Check that the headlamps are clean.
    • Check for correct headlamp operation.
    • Check that the vehicle is on level ground.
    • If the vehicle is equipped with air suspension, make sure that the switch is on.
  1. NOTE: The vertical wall or screen must be a minimum of 2.4 meters (8 feet) wide.
Park the vehicle on a level surface approximately 7.6 meters (25 feet) from the vertical wall or screen directly in front of it.
    a0022317.gif
  1. NOTE: The center of the lamp is marked by a 3 mm (0.12 in) circle on the headlamp lens.
Mark a horizontal reference line on the vertical wall or screen.
    1. Measure the center of the headlamp height to ground and record.
    1. Make a 2.4 meter (8 foot) horizontal mark (masking tape) on the vertical wall or screen at the same distance from the ground as previously recorded.
    a0066365.gif
  1. NOTE: This procedure should be done in a dark environment to effectively see the headlamp beam pattern.
Turn on the low beam headlamps to illuminate the wall or screen and open the hood.
  1. NOTE: For SAE type headlamps, the appearance of the beam pattern may vary between vehicles.
On the wall or screen, locate the high intensity area of the beam pattern. Place the top edge of the high intensity zone even with the horizontal reference line.
VOR type headlamps
  1. NOTE: The appearance of the VOR beam pattern may vary between vehicles.
Identify at the top edge of this high intensity area a distinct horizontal cutoff in the beam pattern. If the top edge of this cutoff is not even with the horizontal reference line, the headlamp beam will need to be adjusted.
    a0042248.gif
VOL type headlamps
  1. For VOL type headlamps, there will be a distinct cutoff in the left portion of the beam pattern. The edge of this cutoff should be positioned 50.2 mm (2 in) below the horizontal reference line.
    1. Horizontal reference line.
    1. Top edge of the beam pattern.
    1. High intensity zone.
    a0042249.gif
Mechanical Aiming
  1. For the mechanical aiming procedure, refer to the appropriate mechanical headlamp aimer instruction manual.

How do i change right turn lamp in my 2004 pontiac grand prix

Answer remove the headlight assembly and the bulbs are located below the Assembly to remove headlamp assembly and access signals: -open the hood
-while pushing rearward on the headlamp, pull up half-way on the (white)plastic retaining clip on the electrical connector - align the square cut-out on the retaining clip with the notch on the headlamp
-pull the headlamp assembly straight out from the vehicle (moving the headlamp up and down slightly may help with its removal)
-locate the front turn signal, parking lamp and foglamp bulbs which are located below the headlamp assembly (turn/parking lamp on top and the fog lamp is below it)
-turn the bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise to remove it from assembly
-pull the old bulb from the socket and replace it with a new one
-turn the bulb socket a 1/4 turn clockwise to reinstall it
-reinstall the headlamp assembly carefully so you dont scratch the paint
-push down on (white)plastic retaining clip on the electrical connector while pushing rearward on the headlamp making sure headlamp is secure.

Frequent headlamp replacement

Have your battery checked. A weak battery (Sorentos all have lousy stock batteries) may allow electrical spikes to blow lamps. Also make sure your battery cables are tight.

Note: The stock battery on 2003 and 2004 Sorentos V-6 models is a group 24. The group 34 battery is a better choice with more CCA and reserve capacity bit may require minor modifications to the battery tray or hold-down clamp.

Make sure you're using good quality headlamp bulbs. Auto-parts stores with lamps behind the counter are often higher quality than blister-pak lamps from Wally-World.
