I locked up the radio when I replaced the battery. Didn't realize it had anti-theft on it. (Have only had it about a year & didn't have the code from the person I bought it from) The dealers are telling me that they have take out the radio to get the serial number off the back of it in order to reset it. Is there any way this can be done without taking out the radio?

If you just replaced the battery or something, the stock radio has an anti theft device that makes the radio ''Lock'' when the power is disconnected. the only thing you can do is take it to the dealer and hope they have your unlock code. You may find a reset procedure but I doubt it... good luck!
The radio anti-theft has locked itself out. You need to go to your local agent with ID and they will check your radio serial number and be able to give you the correct unlock code. (Make a note of this for future ocassions).
You must take it to a dealership and they will unlock it for you. There is a specific dealer code that will unlock any radio and once they do it, you pick one that you will remember. This is part of the anti theft. Hope this helps.
Yes, alot of cars have this feature. It is a anti-theft feature so if it is removed you need a code to unlock the radio (or if the battery is unpluged). If it's an after market deck than it should be in the manual if no manual than try googling it. If it is the factory deck than more than likly you will have to go back to the dealer to get the code. Good luck.
In the newer Honda's there is a lock code on the radios when they lose power the code kicks in to prevent theft the reset code should be in your owners manual if it isn't call your locale Honda dealer.
