Question about 1995 Lincoln Town Car

1 Answer

Heater core how to replace heater core in a 1994 lincoln town car? thank you. I have the same problem on my 95 Cartier.  Along with a display head for the climate control that doesn't display that I could replace at the same time.  I understand that the dash needs to come out.  Is dash removal just tedious or is it difficult?  Is there any estimate on the amount of time required or any pitfalls that someone would like to point out?  Also, would there be an advantage to trying a radiator sealant to the system? Thanks

I would recommend picking up a Haynes repair manual for your year and make of Lincoln, I have one for my Lincoln and it gives you all the instructions and troubleshooting hints and the estimate time is anywhere from 5-10 hours

Heater blows only cols air- one line going into heater core is hot, the other cold.....1994 lincoln town car

sounds like a restricted heater core. if you remove the heater hoses from the engine, pour some cooling system cleaner in. let it sit for 10 or 20 minutes, then you can flush with a garden hose.

Where is the heater core located on a 1994 Lincoln Town Car?

behind glove box!
Inspect/Replace If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core.
Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

Where are spark plugs in a 1998 lincoln town car cartier?

they are "coil on plug" design, so you have to remove the ignition coils to get to the plugs.
they are along side of the valve cover near the fuel injectors

Heater door dont change to cool

this problem is due to a failed temperature control blend door actuator motor, this part in located about center of the dash on the air duck between the heater core and evaporator core, you must remove the dash Assembly to replace it.
