Where can I find a Hydraulic Clutch hose for the Master Cylinder to connect to the Slave cylinder for a1997 Camaro RS 3.8 V6...I cant find one to save my life. Thanks in Advance

Why is my clutch feel like there is air in the line it seems to have alot of play.


Air in the hydraulic clutch release System. The system consists of the clutch master cylinder, line, hose and clutch slave cylinder. Check the level at the clutch master cylinder. The fill reservoir is along the firewall on drivers side with a black cap. It uses DOT 3 brake fluid. Add fluid if low and pump pedal. If low you have a leak. If full you have a master cylinder internal seal bad so you have to have the master cylinder for the clutch replaced.

I have a 2000 mazda 323 with a manual transmission. i have already change the clutch kit but the gear is still hard to shift


Check the hydraulic clutch operation. This is a clutch master cylinder with a reservoir on the firewall, and a clutch slave cylinder down on the bell housing of the transmission, with a steel tube running from the master to the slave cylinder. When clutch pedal is depressed, hydraulic fluid (brake fluid) is forced from the master to the slave. The slave cylinder should push out a little plunger that contacts the clutch fork lever-pushing it forward to engage the clutch.
Add brake fluid to the reservoir if needed. Watch the plunger on the slave cylinder: if it moves little, or not enough, try bleeding the slave from the bleeder valve. They are bled just like brakes. If bleeding doesn't help, your clutch master or the slave may need replacing. The master cylinder, like a brake master, has internal seals that hold hydraulic pressure, so force can be applied to the plunger on the slave cylinder.

Cant locate clutch cylinder 1988 Honda accord lx 5 speed trasmssion


If it is a hydraulic clutch, and not cable operated, there will be two cylinders. A clutch master cylinder will be mounted on the firewall next to the brake master cylinder. One steel line will go from the master cylinder down to the slave cylinder bolted onto the transmission housing where the clutch lever extends out of the housing. Other than bleeding the slave cylinder, no adjustments are necessary on hydraulic clutches. Cable operated clutches have an adjusting mechanism to take up slack when the clutch disc wears. The adjuster will be inside the engine bay.

1997 nissan altima 5 speed manual transmission will not shift, is it the clutch, master cylinder or slave cylinder?


first check to see if you have any fluid in the clutch master cylinder which is mounted by the firewall on l/h side of car. if fluid is inthere, follow the line/hose to the transmission. this line/hose goes to slave cylinder mounted somewhat on the front/top of trans with 2 bolts. that is the slave. have someone push the clutch as you are watching the slave cylinder for operation. it should move with clutch beeing pressed. if it doesnt move than you have a hydraulic issue/leaking master cylinder. if it moved nicely, tha i would be looking at the clutch.

I cant drop the tranny in my 2000 camaro it is a v6 5 speed there is a hose looking thing on the side of it and dont know what it is or how to take it off


HOSE LOOKING AT MORE LIKELY CLUTCH HYDRALIC LINE THAT CONNECTS TO CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER AND CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER.

How do you replace the slave cylinder


Step 1
Raise the vehicle and support with jack stand placed underneath the frame.
  • Step 2 Remove the cover from the reservoir on top of the clutch master cylinder. It will be located in the engine bay on the driver side of the firewall, near the brake master cylinder. Fill the reservoir with DOT 3 brake fluid. Do not allow the reservoir to run dry at any time during the bleeding process.
  • Step 3 Locate the clutch slave cylinder. It will be bolted to the clutch housing. Locate the small bleeder screw near where the hydraulic hose connects to the slave cylinder.
  • Step 4 Connect a length of clear plastic tube to the bleeder screw.
  • Step 5 Open the slave cylinder bleeder screw, by turning it counterclockwise. Have an assistant pump the clutch pedal until clean brake fluid seeps out of the bleeder screw. Then close the bleeder screw. Make sure the clutch master cylinder does not run dry.
  • Step 6 Have the assistant pump the clutch pedal a few times and hold it against the floor. While the pedal is held against the floor, open the bleeder screw and allow the some fluid to seep out. Close the bleeder screw before releasing the clutch pedal.
  • Step 7 Repeat the process listed in the step above and watch the fluid seeping out of the slave cylinder. The clutch is fully bled when there are no more air bubbles in the fluid seeping out of the slave cylinder. You will be able to see the bubbles in the clear plastic tubing. Do not allow the clutch master cylinder to run dry at any point.
  • Step 8 Lower the vehicle.

    The easiest way to bleed out a clutch hyd system is to connect a hose from the closest front brake caliper bleeder to the bleeder on the slave cylinder. Crack both bleeders open and pump the BRAKE pedal very slowly. It might be best to have someone pump the pedal for you.You will feel the pedal get harder once all the air is pushed out of the clutch system. Close off bleeders and remove hose and test drive car.

    This is a back bleed and it's the only way to get all the air out of the clutch system on Peugeots and some other Euro cars.

    The clutch is stuck to the floor bord and i cant shift


    you may have a faulty clutch master cylinder or faulty clutch slave cylinder- leaking clutch fluid. most of the time both are replaced at the same time which should be recomended by your mechanic, the bolts to the master cylinder are very hard to get to and require the right tool.
    you should be able to move car forward by selecting 1st then cranking engine till it starts, gear changes while driving are hard but not impossible. i recommend a tow truck to a local repairer.

    The problem could come from the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder. The cause could be external or internal.

    First check the fluid level in the reservoir. The reservoir could be independent of the brake system or using the same.

    If the level is too low, air may have entered in the line and the hydraulic compression is affected. So first, adjust the level in the reservoir using recommended oil. (normally brake oil is ok).

    Check for any oil leak starting from the clutch pedal following hydraulic circuit up to the transmission.
    Your vehicule should have two clutch cylinders: the master and the slave.
    The master cylinder is operated by your clutch pedal, it's located under the dash, fixed to the firewall and connected to the hydraulic line on the other side of the firewall. Check for any leak on the carpet, under the carpet and near the hydraulic connection. Pumping the pedal making that verification could help to detect leak. Then follow the hydraulic line going to the slave cylinder attached to the transmission making a visual inspection for leaks.
    If for any reason some air entered the circuit, the line could be purged from air bleeding the slave cyclinder as you do bleeding brake component.
    If there is no air, no leak detected then it's probably an internal problem that you can't see. Remove the cap from the reservoir, depress the pedal. If the oil is moving in the reservoir then the master slave is probably bad otherwise I would suspect the slave.
    I'm not an Isuzu technician.
    Some other Gurus could complement or correct my saying.

    My 1994 ford rangers clutch pedal just lost all pedal


    There are two types of clutch actuators. (Mechanical & Hydtraulic)
    A. For mechanical type,- Check the clutch cable as
    this could be cut from wear and tear. This is easy
    to replace. You can find this connected to the
    pedal and the clutch lever near the transmission.
    B.For hydraulic operated - Check the level of the
    hydraulic oil at the cylinder of the hydraulic
    actuator under the hood. This actuator is
    directly connected to the pushrod driven by the
    pedal. If the actuator is leaking, you have buy
    a repair kit (Hyraulic clutch repair kit for Ford
    Ranger 1994 MOdel.) These items must be
    repaired to activate your pedal.
