Could be faulty wiring. check plug going inti alternator. Red wire is supply voltage and black wire is control voltage. both should have 12 volts or so when key is on.

2003 ford expedition starts after couple trys then runs great just having probles starting

The light is supposed to be on when the alternator is not charging the battery, IE not producing more power than the battery already has.
You may have to try to catch the system when the light is on to test output.
Do you know what fuel pressure is before and after cranking ? You could be loosing fuel pressure back into the tank, or it could be something electrical.

Hi i noticed your post regarding Chrysler Voyager battery discharging. I have the same problem and have changed altanator, new battery etc etc. I have tried your solution regarding the anti theft system...

sounds like ECM might be draining the battery..i own a 92 and had that problem...i removed the #3 fuse from fuse box and charged battery to full and problem was resolved...#3 fuse controls interior cabin lights. The ecm is behind the fuse box and expensive to replace.I could only find 1 in the USA and the serials have to match or reflash the old ECM if repairable. Try that fuse first temporarily. I just left mine unplugged and haven't had the drainage problem since.

My 1985 dodge ramcharger wont charge my battery and i already replaced the altanator

You need to replace the external voltage regulator on the fire wall. Probably need a new pig tail wiring harness too.

I get no response when I turn the key in the ignition switch. If I turn the key in the switch there is nothing

two things would cause this a totally dead battery. or a loss of the ground. headlights are grounded to the body and run directly off of the battery. since your lights dont work this would point to a dead find out if the battery is bad or if it was caused by the charging system not working. try jumping the car if you can get it started here are a couple of simple ways to check the charging. one with the car running remove the possitive cable from the battery if the car dies the altanator is not charging replace it. if the car stays running the battery most likely has dead cells and wont hold the charge. the other way is to take a bolt or small ferous metal object and on the back of the altanator there is a round cap in the center of the case if the piece of metal your using will stick to that cap then the altanator is producing a charge and the battery is the problem. if no magnetic field is present then the alternator is bad and needs replaced

Altanator keeps dieing.

A fresh charged battery does not mean it is a good battery. The battery is working the alternator to death, replace it,it has a bad cell,or the amps are to low,and has a short in it.The alternator senses the battery is in bad need off charge, and puts all out until the alternator has nothing left,This is the most likely cause of this problem. Also be sure the battery cable ends are shiny clean when replacing the battery.

Altanator not charging

Alternators require a + feed from the battery before they start charging. Make sure 12v is reaching it from the switched live supply.
