Question about 1987 Cadillac Brougham
Does it misfire under load like when you press on the gas peddle after slowing down then accelerate or at idle. When you say spark plug did you mean all the spark plugs?

SOURCE: SERVICE ENGINE SOON
You can't tell what the problem is just by the presence of the "check engine light." Many sensors can set off the light. You can connect a diagnostic analyzer to the vehicle and it will spit out codes that you can look up to see what the problem is. That is what most shops do, or you can buy an analyzer and do it yourself. It may be harder to find one for a 1987 car though

I have a 94 Tbird with a reading of 790 NO ppm at 1871 RPM, I put about a liter of water into the intake at about 2000 RPM and changed vacum lines to EGR valve,(may have been cracked), now the reading is only 214 NOppm at 1348 RPM. This much change I don't understand. Maybe this info may help someone.
