1999 pontiac grand prix lost power on highway n now it wont start?

run fault codes and check for cam/crank position sensor check that the cam shaft is turning (broken timing belt/chain) Check immobliser operation.

If 3100 engine is running smooth could the cam shaft sensor be bad in a pontiac grand prix

Not CAM or Crank angle sensor.. Try check supply fuel line pressure n spark plug n ignition coil output.. the ignition coil output should be blue spark n spark jump at least half inch.. But be careful coz its hi tension..

1994 grand prix se, 3.1 engine, car goes from running great to not running at all... ive changed TPS. cam sensor, complete tune up. ..will a new crankshaft sensor help..and where is it located, what tools...

No special tools are needed. However before you spend another cent on anything, bring the vehicle to a shop that does scopemeter testing . This way they can possible pinpoint problem.

For pontiac grand prix what does trouble code

Appears to be the code for the camshaft position sensor, or cam sensor circuit. Around $35-45.00 for the part at an auto parts store. Have the part replaced. And take it from there. Might be a good thing to replace the spark plugs and wires too.

I think you'll find that the computer lost the cam sensor
signal for a moment
