Question about 2005 Toyota Tacoma
I have a 2005 PreRunner: When slowing down at a turn I sometimes feel the transmission miss a shift or shift harder than normal. I can recreate this problem in any gear if I - break hard, and after coming to a complete stop, I step on the accelerator as I normally would and the engine reves but will not move, then all of a sudden, the transmission will seem to kick in. The dealer diagnosed this as driveline bind (has a 2 piece driveline) and cost me $ to have the driveline greased. That was a waste and did nothing. Any ideas? One of the service techs said it may be cavitation of the fluid. The tranny is sealed and is not meant to be serviced by other than the dealer. Apparently there is a procedure to flush and add fluid (between certain temperatures)?
