2002 Dodge Caravan- alternator
I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan with 3.3 engine with 75,000 kms. I'm getting a constant rattle sound that I have traced to the alternator, and can heard the loudest with the engine idling.
Is this a common problem with this vehicle?
Any helpful ideas on the root cause, and ways to correct the problem rattle would be greatly appreciated.

- I have constant rattling sound and can be easily heard during engine idle.So I tried to trace the rattle sound by using a wooden dowel placing one end to my ear and the other end to diffrents parts of the engine.The alternator is where I can here the rattle sound the loudest.However I will go and take a closer listen and inspection of all the parts in the near-by area,espeicially the tensioner.Thanks 66 chrgr for sharing your expertise and helpful advise.Clarification Request
