2000 ford ranger stalled when brakes were locked up. Now it Wont run.

A car cut me off at a round-about, and when I liberally applied pressure to the brakes, the truck stalled and now ceases to run? Sensor? Fuel shut-off triggered? Whats going on?

Ah yes, vacuum lines. I'll give it a good check. I didnt notice any earlier, but ill loo again. And the temperature is about 30 degrees. Not damp or raining. Perhaps its still the master control?

Check your Inertia sensor. This is usually behind a kick panel at the base of the carpet. It has a reset button. Vibrations and Impacts will activate this part and cut off fuel power.

If this speratic problem seams to happen most when it's raining or damp, it is a shorting master contol that is to blame. The master control mother board is located on the firewall. Over time, the moisture seal on the cover fails and the motherboard gets damp and meny false signals are sent. This can even happen if the truck is off and key is not in the ignition (this mother board will alwas have power going to it as long as the battery is connected). A cheap way to check this is to remove the cover, put a plastic grocery bag over the mother board and use an small elastic band to close the open end, allow the wires connected to the mother board to go out the open end. If this solves the problem, replace the seals on the master control cover. Care should be taken as if there is ANY corrossion on the mother board, it will need to be replaced.

SOURCE: need location of the erg sensor 2000 ford ranger

The egr valve has two sensors. One is an EGR position sensor which is physically attached to the EGR valve. The other sensor is the DPFE (Delta Pressure Feedback EGR) sensor, commonly called the EGR pressure sensor. It's location varies depending on the engine you have. You can fine this sensor by following the vacuum hose on the EGR valve. It will be with in inches of the EGR valve. The sensor will be black (plastic) or silver (metal), have two or three vacuum ports and an electrical connection on it.

The vacuum pressure sensor is a high failure item on fords. Any Ford parts department will have one in stock, as well as some aftermarket parts stores.

The new sensor may not look exactly the same as the old part, but will have all the hook ups as the old one. You may also need to replace the vacuum hose to the sensor as well

SOURCE: location of the egr sensor on 2000 ford ranger

The EGR pressure sensor is located within inches of the EGR valve. The exact location varies depending on the engine (2.5L, 3.0L or 4.0L). It is usually attached to the upper intake manifold with two small bolts.

What do i need to be changed it stalls when pushing on the brakes and plus the idle.

i need a little more info, 2 things could be the problem, first you could have a bad brake booster causing an extreme vacume leak which could stall the engine, or at least make it run very rough and stumble when brakes are applied, the other thing could be a low batt, when appling the brakes the brake lights will come on causing a voltage drop to the engine causing it to stall, whoever the condition would drain the batt to the point that it probably wont have enough power to restart the engine, if this is the case you would also need to check the alternator for charge rate easy enough to check hook a voltmeter to the battery with the engine running it should read at least 13.5 volts up to but not exceeding 14.9 volts

Dooropen light keeps comeing on my 2000 ford pickup

Open the door and spray a liberal amount of WD-40 on the lock mechanism and open and close the door several times repeating this. That should clear up the problem.

89 ranger i was driving than it just stalled. i have spark, i have fuel but no fire. but it wont start, if i put starting fluid in the intake it will run for a second then stall.

If you can keep spraying staring fluid and it stays running then the fuel pump is no pumping. only with a pressure gauge can you test it

Steering wheel shimmys at speeds 35 and up just changed rotors and pads no play in new wheel bearings doesnt shimmy when i brake though. any help would help greatly thanks

If it shimmies with the brakes applied, it's a rotor problem....but like you say, it shimmies just at a certain speed with no brakes applied, check tires for out-of-roundness. If they look ok, you are looking at a balance problem with the tires.
