My belt came off of my power steering unit on my 2001 pt cruiser. if i drive my car will it cause any xtra damage.

From the looks of the diagram it does run the water pump as well so unless you want to replace the head i would park it.

I purchased a 2001 Pt Crusier of which the timing belt broke and they told me the engine was damaged due to it breaking during operation. I was also told it had no compression on two cylinders due to this...

timing this motor is a real bear, just did it to my 01 pt,but when done right it will hold 150-160 lbs in each cyc. I had to get a free print out from autozone, just make sure that the cam gears are a half or gear off, the print out will show all details needed.

I am unable to replace my timing belt on my 2001 PT Cruiser I have 120,000 miles on my car.....Can it make it to 122,000??? I am trying to get the money together as we speak........Do you know???

some people dont bother to change the belt at all(NOT RECCOMMENDED) so, as long as you dont redline it in every gear,it could go on for a lot longer(i hope...)

The timing belt went bad and i replacing it do think the heads r bad to

The crysler 2.4L is not an interference engine. This means that when
your belt broke, it should not have bent any valves or damaged the head
Hope this helps.

The timing belt in my 2001 pt cruiser is broken. Did this cause any damage to the engine? or do we just need to replace the timing belt

Its got damage, bent valves. replace every thing on timing belt, tensioner, pulleys, water pump. The head needs to go to a machine shop and bent valves replaced.

Timing belt on 2001 pt cruiser went

Have you installed a new timing belt? If yes then you must do a compression test on each cylinder to verify no piston/valve damage. Your motor is not a freewheeling one. Damage is most likely to occur if your belt has failed.
