It is located under the coil packs in the front lower part of the engine.but i would try the crank sensor first which is located on back side of engine pass side half way up .

GM has been using distributorless ignition on both the 4 cyl and 6 cyl engines since the mid 1980s.
No cap or rotor, and no distributor.

New plug misfire in dodge ram 1500 6 cyl van

could be your coil, but can also be internal, have you replaced both the air & fuel filters ? if so, dump some good fuel injector cleaner into tank when half empty , top off with 91-92 octane fuel, see how that works for you, do some highway driving, stop & go traffic creates problems, todays fuel w/ethonal is bad for older cars, be sure to have code cleared from ecm !

Wher is the ignition control module located in a jeep grand cherokee lorado

6 or 8 cylinder? Either way the computer (ECM) controls the coils. 6 cyl has a 'coil rail' and 8 cyl had individual coils on each cylinder. There are crankshaft and camshaft sensors that tell the ecm when to fire each cylinder

94 3.1 grand am plug wiring diagram

1994 Pontiac Grand Am 3.1L 6-cylinder Firing Order

11_29_2011_10_48_12_pm.jpg

Fig. 3.1L (VIN M) Engine Firing Order: 1-2-3-4-5-6 Distributorless Ignition System.

One can verify that this Firing Order Diagram applies to your 1994 Grand Am, by making sure that the 8th digit of VIN is "M" (for this 6-cyl 3.1L engine type), and the 10th digit of VIN is "R" (for model year 1994).

ON A 4-CYL: 1-3-4-2 DISTRIBUTOR ROTATION-COUNTERCLOCKWISE / ON A V-6: W/DISTRIBUTOR (COUNTERCLOCKWISE): 1-2-3-4-5-6. SAME GOES FOR THE DISTRIBUTORLESS IGNITION!

spark plug gaps are very critical on computerised cars!! [some wont even start!]
distributor module may be breeaking down as temp rises they fail!
otherwise do compression check as it may have valve problems
also check plug leads & injectors aswell as the fuel pump pressure [ could bestarving for fuel]
