I have been trying to do this myself. It's very common on the Tahoe models where they like to integrate the Onstar into all of the wheel controls, rear-seat entertainments, and into the navigation. Dealer refused to disconnect it. A lot of other places don't want to mess with it, so really the only option you have is to find a wiring diagram that shows which wires are which. I'm trying to get my hands on it also. I tried pulling the fuse, but it's tied to the rear dvd setup. I disconnected the mic overhead as a measure. I'm hearing from a friend of mine that there is a special coaxial cable connected to the "Onstar module" that is either behind the glove box and/or behind the radio panel. I never subscribed and the forced upon junk won't stop turning on. Cancelling does nothing. And for those that say Onstar stops monitoring...they never stop unless they can no longer connect to your box using the module. It's some "marketing analysis" analysis tactic they use in their privacy policies. Also, GM IS Onstar, or should I say Onstar is by GM, even though they say they're separate, but "off the paper" they're the same. They don't want to disconnect it because it's their product and they will try to tell you it's a "safety" feature built in. My philosophy is if a car can operate without it, there's no reason why a Chevy or other type can't operate without it too. As another suggestion, you can look into disconnecting the Onstar Coaxial along with just removing their module and convert the "hands-free" components to use it with your cell phone. Keep the mic and control to it, but why not use the components to your benefit, just without the "big-brother" thought of someone tracking you or the annoying devices turning on without you doing it. Just a thought. I'm looking into this solution as well. I hate Onstar. Whatever you do, if you have XM radio on your stereo, don't take off the antenna. It really is useless to do and has nothing to do with the Onstar, unless your setup is completely cross-wired with it. If you find a good and cheap removal solution, let me know. I will do the same for you when I do. I am trying to get my dvd back up and running asap so I don't have to have this whole mess of Onstar interfering and "distracting" my driving. Figure it this way: If you're out of warranty, the dealer won't help you anyway with it and for saying they would try, you would spend an arm and a leg to get it done. But the dealers most often won't remove it, or just don't want to. Either way you don't have to worry about voiding a warranty. Hope you get a solution I'm looking for too. Am checking with a cousin that worked at a GM plant to see if they know how to do it too. Good Luck

Call onstar and cancel the service, pull fuses, then remove the top of the dash and unhook the onstar module behind the passenger side airbag. I think it would be much easier just to call and cancel

Where is the onstar fuse on a 2011 silverado 1500 located ?

Pretty sure it is #25 on the drivers side inside, but I am also pretty sure it is a combo fuse labeled INFO/AIRBAG, and pulling it may disable your airbags.

HOW CAN I CHANGE MY BLUETOOTH LANGUAGE FROM SPANISH MODE TO ENGLISH ON MY 2010 CHEVY 1500

I tried to follow the directions in the owners manual. It didn't work. So I called GM. I was told I would have to go to Onstar. Onstar said they could change my bluetooth from Spanish to English, but I would have to subscribe to Onstar.

Where are the fuses for Onstar, satellite radio and remote starter for 2008 Silverado 1500? Owner's manual isn't very clear.

Comments from the dealership, the fuse location for the Onstar system is located as follows: Drivers-side instrument panel fuse block, exposed on the left edge of the panel when the drivers door is open. Pull the fuse labeled: #22, a 10A fuse. The label in the owners manual calls it the "Driver Information Center (DIC)". This will disable the ONSTAR system.

Leave to GM to move the fuse locations around, this used to be under the hood and it was called the INFO fuse and it was a 15a fuse.

And yes....It does **** that they moved it from the '07s,on mine its a 15amp fuse under the hood marked 'INFOTNMT" like you said.

How do i disable onstar gps in 2003 chevrolet 2500 series crewcab

Unplugging the Onstar unit should deactivate it and if you can get to it. I haven’t yet taken the time to locate the Onstar unit in my Yukon. In older Yukons, Tahoes, and Suburbans the Onstar was in the cargo area, above and behind the right rear wheel well. However, it’s my understanding that when they redesigned the Onstar unit for smaller size, they started putting it behind the instrument cluster in the dashboard. Good luck
