Question about 1986 Pontiac Grand Am
my cigarette lighter has not been working for some time. A friend and I were poking at it and it threw sparks. Anyway, I changed out the fuse and its still not working, so I was thinking of replacing the ligher itself.
I bought a part from Kragen which should work, however I am trying to find instructions for changing it out, there's no explicit instructions in the manual. From the looks of it, it looks like I may need to remove the whole center console to replace it, I don't see a way to just pop it out. I *do* have instructions for that in the manual, but that is rather involved and requires removing the negative battery terminal thingie--something I may leave to the expertise of my dad.
Can someone confirm for me that this is the way it should be removed? Through removing the center console?
See if you can look behind it if theres a screw around it or some sort of clip holding it in, maybe it just snaps in and can be snapped out by pushing from behind it
