Bad or worn out tire, bent wheel, missing wheel weights are the three main causes. That is where I would start. Any tire store will be able to help you.

Why does my steering wheel shake when accelerating over 60 mph sometimes but not always?

It's God telling you to slow down. 8)

No, really... you may have a bad tire (broken belts or not spinning straight & true) or you may have a tie rod end that's getting loose, or any number of worn suspension components, or a cracked boot and a bad CV joint, or quite a few other things.

Yep, sometimes a new tire is bad, too. Just like anything else.

Given that it happens only on acceleration above a certain speed (indicating that a heavy load is required to duplicate it), I suspect that the front suspension is flexing forward, causing an excess toe-in condition. Were the old tires badly worn on the outside (outboard, away from vehicle center) edge? With a distinct scallop or piecrust pattern?

SURELY this is being handled under warranty, right? That's a three-year-old vehicle.

Severe vibration in front end at 60 mph. steering wheel also vibrates even at lower mph.

If it's front wheel drive the "C.V. Joints". The Constant Velosity Joints connect the front wheels to the drive shafts (R & L). Call around to front end alignment shops for quote about $175 to $225 +$130 if four wheel drive, more labor. Listen if is is noiser (clicking) in turns, than driving straight, if so CV's are bad.

Front End shaking

Most likely with this problem is the front tires. The tires maybe " out of balance " or " out of round " causing the vibration at certain speeds.

Vibration from 45-60 mph..new michlin tires ,aligned and balanced

have the steering rack checked for excess play, also have all the front end bushing checked, this is a common cause of this type of problem, it is the front end that is doing it, finding the worn part(s) is the job that needs to be done to correct this.
