Volkswagon beetle 2004 spoiler problem

The spoiler comes out when going over 20 miles per hour and goes back in when speed is reduced. This spoiler in and out drives me crazy because it is very loud, espeically going back in. This is a trubo car.........and its enough noise distraction to want to get rid of the car for that reason. Anyone else have that problem?

The spoiler comes out when the car reaches 20 miles per hour and slams back in when it goes back to 20 miles per hour. I think the volkswagon dealership was just going to disconnect it, and their will be a continuous light on in the dashboard. VERY ANNOYING

No, there isn't a switch under the dash.

I paid $50 for a half hour of work at a Volkswagon dealership to have it disconnect. It was so very annoying in city traffic. I feel like I have a new car. I put up with it for years, the dealership didn't want to disconnect it for some reason. I do have a continuous light on the dash now, however. Thats not a big deal

RTFM!  The 'Controls and Operating Equipment' section of the owner's manual has an illustration which identifies the location of the rear spoiler switch (pages 3&4), and a sub-section on rear spoiler operations (page 68).  The 'Service' section specifies the maintenance interval the rear spoiler should be lubricated (at 20K, 40K, 50K, 60K, 70K miles, etc).

Scan the car and check for transmission codes. Could possibly be a faulty Throttle Position sensor, Trans Temp Sensor or Speed sensor. etc.. The first step is to scan it.

Could be a transaxle Clutch Lock-Up problem,
not OD

TCC Shutter -- Torque Converter Clutch [-- Shutter

If that can be resolved with a new selonoid
is questionable
Has to be diagnosed

Your light on the gas & in OD ,but the lock-up isn't

It is going into limp mode. There is a serious problem somewhere. Could be with the engine or transmission. You need to have the ECU scanned to see why it is going into Limp Mode. I suggest you seek professional help.
