Question about 1990 Honda Prelude

89 Honda Prelude SI- Wont start

Bought 2 weeks ago and now the car wont start. I drove it to work on Tuesday, it started right up but around 5pm when going home it wouldn' t turn over. Like the battery was dead. Nothing even lit up. I got a Jump from a friend and drove home. Next morning the same thing, it started fine and then that afternoon i tried to start it. It started right up! Then when going home 2 hours later it would not start. I checked the battery cables and they are corroded and old. Tested battery with DVM and it holds charge. Seems like a cable contact issue? Please help and teel me what u think.

1990 Honda Prelude SI sometimes (about once every 2 or three weeks) won't start. Batery is new and cables are clean. Starter is good because it sounds line engine turns, but just won't fire up. This has happened when the engine has been warm and cold. Have not seen any pattern. I usually give up trying to start it and then then go back to it anywhere from an hour to a day later and it starts up fine. I do not pump the gas before I try to start it. Could it be the gas filter?

My 91 prelude 2.1 si wont start. Originally it just had an overheating problem. I drove it 300 miles and literally having to stop 2 refill the radiator with water because it overheated. Finally 30 miles...

I think at the minimum you have a blown head gasket. I am guessing you drove the car a considerable distance with not enough coolant and now you may have done extensive damage to the engine. I am guessing that if the engine still cranks, than the head is warped to an extent where there is not enough compression to support combustion.

1990 prelude si wont start battery is good plugs are good d-cap is good it overheated and died i managed to get it started and now it wont start could it be my thermostat is bad?

If you overheated it, and then drove it long enough that the engine died, Your engine hay have a bad head gasket, or the engine is now bad. .fill up the coolant in the radiator (water) leave the cap off, and try to crank the engine up, if it tries to push the water out, the engine is bad. A bad thermostat isnt going to keep it from running, although it may be bad also.

Replaced fuel pump and filter on a 89 honda prelude and it still will not turn over any suggestions

the reason it wont start is because of the fuel pump relay is faulty.. just run a wire from the inside of your trunk from 1 of the wires on top of the tank to ur fuse box... it will always start from now on....

Car won't start.

sounds like the fuel filter.. if you have those kind of skills, they're usually cheap to buy and worth a shot to change. depending on the location the labor will take you 1 - 5 hrs...
