Question about 2007 BMW X3 3.0si SAV

1 Answer

I just got new BMW X3. I done 3000km and for that period had 2 times i which the engine stopped - once the engine got death when I was reversing out of the garage and the second time it just stopped when I was driving in a traffic with around 30km/h. I believe that in the 2 times this happened the outside temperature was around -2C. Also when I was passing my first 1000km or 1500km I noticed a few times that the RPM pointer was unstable at idle. What do you think ? It is not normal to get a brand new bmw and your engine to get death while you are moving

I have got 2007 BMW X3 from dealer couple days back. After driving for about 200 miles the transmission light came up. Took it to the dealer and mentioned that there was some glitch in software program and needs tobe updated. I was wondering if there is any transmission defect in X3?

Hello there

Looks like some things don't change. The problem is with your MAF Sensor (Mass Air Flow) sensor. This is a usual problem with BMW 3.0i engines, though normall it's after 100k. Take it to your dealer and have then read the engine code, this will be done under warranty, so no charge.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.
