Question about 2000 Honda Accord
I have a 2000 Honda Accord SE the check engine light came on and I took it to the shop and they said the transmission was messed up. Will I need to replace the entire transmission if so should I get a rebuilt one or a used one?
We also have a 2000 Honda SE. Had to have new transmission installed at around 60000 miles, thankfully had just received a notice that the transmission warranty had been extended to 100000 miles. So cost me nothing. If yours has under 100000 miles you are probably still covered, if not, you are left to the mercy of the dealer.
But if declined, believe I would still call the main office.

2000 Honda Accords have a warranty on the transmission. Trans should not go like that easy. Look online and you can find that they switched the trans maker in the 2000 year for the accord. I forgot to check if it was under warranty and it was and i turned out spending 1500 on a new one, but you can check with you papers, they send it in like 2002 or 2004 a paper to all owners saying that they would cover the cost of the tranny for free. But you gotta go to them. So just check with a qualified dealer and not just the mechanic, some one who would know the warranty stuff. and check online also, don't get cheated out of you warranty.
