First remove distributor cap so it doesnt get busted
then remove shroud and fan too protct radiator
if you have an engine hoist hook it too the two i bolts on top of the engine and lift it up
if not use a floorjack with a small pice of wood under the oil pan
make sure you pull out your two long mount bolts before lifting!!!!

Get hold of a adjustable engine support , it goes fender to fender (use some type of cushion to avoid damage to paint) , major parts supplier or maybe tool rental will have one or check with a local shop might rent one to you

this looks like a motor mount. you will have to support the engine with a jack and unbolt the bolts of the mount and lift the motor high enough to remove old mount and install new.

How do I remove the oil pan on an 86 chevy k20 with the 350? I have all the bolts out all around it's loose and I can move it around but it will not come down and out??? Anyone please????

You will most likely have to remove the two motor mount bolts and lift the engine as much as possible ,sometimes you also have to remove the exhaust crossover pipe. Its a tight fit but can be done. Be careful putting it back ,I usually glue the gasket to the pan rail on the engine so as not to trash the gasket . Have fun

I have a 1984 S10 4x4 with 5 speed standard, extended cab. It has a 3 inch lift, dual exhaust with headers and larger boots. The 2.8 does not have enough power to reach highway speed. Any suggestions?...

You can fit a Small Block V8 into an S-10 with a little bit of work. There is also kits for sale for this purpose as well as books on how to do it. Just do a google search for "S-10 V8 kit".

If you do decide to follow through with the idea you will have a lot of fun ;) I put a 425hp Small Block in my 85 S-10.

No. Pull your bolts so you can remove the engine and then change the mounts while the engine is hanging.

How do I replace the motor mounts on my 96 thunderbird 3.8L?

Put the car on ramps and set e brake.

Use engine hoist to lift engine weight off of car.

Remove mount to engine bolts, remove mount nut.

Lift engine just enough to remove mounts and install new.

Watch exhaust, fuel lines and transmission mount while lifting. They may have to be loosened or moved.

How to install 350 chevy frame mounts in a 1985 chevy impala

The 1985 Impala came standard with the Chevrolet 305 V8. All Chevrolet small block V8's from 265 cubic inches to 400 cubic inches from 1957 to about 1989 used the same block with almost no difference in the castings, so the motor mounts should fit from one block to the next. If you are trying to swap in a 350 newer than 1989, then the motor mounts are different, and you will have to have them fabricated by a local welder, machine shop, or perhaps the best, a local short-track race car driver/builder. Those guys can build anything.

How do i remove the oil pan on a 85 lesabre with a v8

You need to remove the transmission inspection cover under the torque convertor and also the bolts the hold the motor mounts together so you can jack the front of the engine up about 3 inches so the oil pan will slide out. You also need to take off the starter. Hope this helps.

What engine of other cars could fit in Chevy caprice 82-85,

almost every rear drive drive full size used the 305 V8, so u can get an engine from a Buick La sabre, Pontiac bonneville and firebird, also Oldsmobile 88, and don't forget Camaro. any 305 chevy V8 will bolt in, also the 350 V8 will bolt in, this is a much better choice..
