1991 pickup makes squeling sound sort of like a fan blade orwheel baaring all theese are ok could ib be the speedometer cable

If the sound you are hearing only happens when the truck is moving, and is louder in colder weather, AND appears to originate somewhere behind the dashboard, it IS the speedometer cable. Usually, I can fix this by reaching up behind the instrument cluster, unhooking the speedometer cable, and spraying TRI-FLO spray lube into the cable. It is messy, and can use up most of a can of TRI-flow, but it is much cheaper than replacing the cable.

Speedometer not working

Given that the new cable was properly installed (it may not have been), the problem is either the speedometer gear in the transmission or the speedometer itself.

If the old cable was indeed broken, I'd first check the new cable to make sure it's properly installed.

My speedometer is not working along with my odometer.

If your speedometer is not electronic, unfasten the speedometer cable from the back of the dashboard instrument assy. Replace the odometer & speedometer unit with another one. Reconect the speedometer cable. This should do the trick.

Speedometer Cable is making a high spinning noise

You need to remove the cable from inside its housing and put some grease on it. can't remember which end it slides out from. try the bottom first.

I found it for $68.32 at the following site: part number: 83710-60171
You may also try calling Tacoma Speedometer at:
