Check your Ignition timing before anything
check your plugs see what color they are
red or orange means carb is to lean , black
or oil means to rich then you can go from there
and set mixture screws on carb , let me no how you make out .
SOURCE: AT START AND WHEN DRIVING, NO LOW SPEED ENGINE IDLE
You likely have a massive vacuum leak. Check the rubber hoses coming from the intake after the throttle body for leaks or missing connections. You'll also be able to hear it with the engine running. It'll be a rushing air/sucking sound.

could be wear indicator on brake pad. how many miles on car? how many since last brake job? need to pull wheel off and check pads. Is the noise from the front or rear? this is the first thing to check there could be other reasons but start here and eliminate the brakes or not. good luck
SOURCE: 2001 Nissan Maxima Engine will start
I had that problem with my 02 Maxima and it was my mass airflow sensor. Not a cheap fix, about $550.00 from dealer or about $350.00 from auto parts store if they have one remanufactured.

sounds like a fuel problem to me. check on the fuel rack for a valve that looks exactly like a tire valve, turn your ignition key to 'on' position, then take a nail and push in on the tire looking valve{caution!!!} wear protective glasses as the fuel will shoot up into your eyes if fuels going to fuel rack!! if no fuel comes out, then suspect 1st bad fuel filter. then bad fuel pump,if not that, then bad fuel pressure regulator. if you have problem locating the fuel valve release, follow the fuel rail on top of the motor until you locate the pressure release valve[that's what you're looking for. thank you for choosing fixya.com
Trouble Code: P1336
CKP Sensor System Variation Not Learned
Possible Causes:
Set the parking brake and block the drive wheels for safety.
Verify the hood is closed.
Read the trouble codes. If a code is set, refer to that code.
Start the engine. Allow engine temperature to reach at least 158?F (70?C). Then key off.
Select Crankshaft Position Variation Learn procedure on Scan Tool & start the vehicle.
Apply the brake pedal firmly and verify the selector is in Park.
Increase accelerator pedal position until fuel cutoff is reached at the test rpm (e.g., 5150). Quickly release the accelerator pedal after fuel cutoff is reached. The CKP system variation compensating values are learned when the engine speed (rpm) decreases back to idle speed and the procedure terminates.
Read the trouble codes and recheck for DTC P1336.
If DTC P1336 runs and passes, the CKP system variation "learn" procedure is complete. If not, look for other codes. If no codes are set, repeat the test procedure.
