Question about 1999 Dodge Durango

Antifreeze leak I have a 1999 Dodge Durango that appears to have an antifreeze leak directly above the front axle. Would that possibly be a heater hose? and how hard would that be to fix on my own.

Aloha,
Febuary 14, We had to change our fuel pump, due to antifreeze leaking, now we are having issues with the fuel pump possibly? When we go to turn on the car it cranks but does not want to start and then we hold the gas peddle down it starts, but sputters and does not want to run properly, the longer it warms up the worse it gets, but we can hear the fuel pump working, it as though there is no pressure? We will let you know what are results are also.

We replaced PCV valve which has in turned help a bit, did not solve the problem though.

Heater control valve location 2000 Durango

In the 2000 Ford F150, you'll find the heater control valve by looking right above the battery. You'll find a little black hose leading to it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1999 durango engine temp struggles to rise above 130 degrees driving or idling heater blows luke warm air . Is there a sensor for this ? maybe thermostat ?

Thermostat is located on the bottom of the engine. Follow the bottom radiator hose to the engine and it will end up at the thermostat housing. not hard to replace, just messy

Leaking antifreeze in the passenger side

I am assuming that you mean that it is leaking within the passenger compartment. In this case, the most likely cause is a leak from the heater core. The only proper fix is to replace it.

Heater core seems fin no leaks or smells but does

More than likely your core is clogged, generally you have already tested it by warming up the engine and feeling both hoses confirming the flow is not getting to the return. Some people have had success by removing the hoses @ the engine and using a garden hose, flush the lines in both directions (as i mention garden hose, note that the pressure is not great, other methods with more pressure could cause a core failure). You could always bring it to a shop and have them complete a flush service with a mention of the hc clogged as well. You will have to refill your coolant in the radiator and work out any air afterwards.

Smell antifreeze thru heat vents when heater is on in 2000 dodge durango. theres no leaks or drips.

Textbook bad heater core symptom. Might be a blown/leaking heater hose....but I doubt it. My monies are on a bad heater core.

Can i still drive my 99 dodge durango with a bad heater core?

well if the heater core is leaking then your coolant is leaking as well, heater cores leak on the inside of your car so your car will get water damage and will smell like antifreeze, so i wouldnt drive it
