03 kia spectra new alt and belt random squealing now no heat

I recently had my alternator go, replaced it as well as a belt. I had a time when my pulley was stuck but we got it freed up. Since the alternator and belt were replaced the belt /pulley or something will squeal at random times. Today it was not squealing and everything was fine, i was on highway and it started squealing like crazy. When i got back in car the battery indicator light was on the heat is not working the squeal is gone then the temp guage went way up like it was going to over heat.....

please help

Your alternator belt broke. That causes the battery light to come on because the battery is no longer charging, and it causes the car to overheat because the water pump isn't working. That's where it gets dicey. I replaced the alternator and belt. The new belt squealed a couple of days and then broke. Replaced the belt, new belt squealed and broke next day. Mechanic is trying to isolate current problem now. I've been looking at other sources who suggest checking the pulleys, tensioners, and water pump. Good luck from here.

How to replace alternator belt on an 03 spectra

Look at the alt. On top you should see a "t" shaped bolt system 1 is facing the wheel well the other facing twords the firewall. Loosen the one facing the wheel well first. then you will see an other bolt on the bottom of the alt facing the wheel well loosen that one up. after those 2 are loosened go back to the bolt facing the firewall and loosen that you will see the alt will be able to slide twords the engine and give you enough slack to remove the belt.

2006 KIA spectra squeals when started- worse when the lights and/or heater is on and when it is wet or cold. The lights will also dim sometimes at a stop when the lights, heat and other stuff is on and...

Check the condition and tension of the drive belt on the alternator as what you have described means that the extra load on the alternator is making the belt slip (squeal)

2003 kia spectra, 5 speed, had the belt replaced, now it squeals worse

I believe I know the noise that is troubling you. If a new belt is correctly tensioned and still makes such a noise it would indicate either contamination with oil or similar or pulleys that are less than perfectly aligned

The noise and your description is symptomatic of slippage and the pulley that is most likely to be slipping is the small alternator pulley. After starting and when accessories are being used that require a significant current the alternator needs considerable power to drive it in order to produce that current/replace the battery power used to start the engine.

The increased power to drive the alternator must be delivered via the drive belt. As the battery voltage rises the charge rate will fall and the power needed to drive the alternator falls and so the squealing reduces and then stops.

One further thing to note is an engine and it's ancillaries expand or grow quite a lot in engineering terms as it warms up, this has a tendency to tighten the drive belts further.

Timing belt instalation 03 kia spectra need the diagram for it

Installing timing belt is not very hard. Install the timing belt onto the pulleys, as follows, crankshaft pulley first, then the idler pulley, exhaust camshaft pulley, intake camshaft pulley, and the tensioner pulley. Just make sure the timing marks are set exact and not got moved from its actual position.------ If in-case,you missed the timing marks. Then you need to align it exactly, other wise there will be problem.------ For timing belt replacing and timing belt diagram, click the link below:--- http://carbeltrouting.blogspot.com/2011/10/2003-kia-spectra-timing-belt.html ------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I had my alternator replaced in my 2001 Kia Spectra. The belts really made noise after and for the second time the alternator belt has broken off. What is wrong?

whan a new belt is put on it will always stretch a littl;e after a few days and will need to be tightened,if its making noise....it most likely loose,so after the belt is replaced..drive it for a day or two then have it retightened, hope this helps
