1984 porsche 944 sometimes it starts, other time it just cranks. if it does not start, you go back later it will fire right up. replaced fuses, terminals ends, checked coil. it is a random situation and...

Sounds like a fuel filter problem, or fuel pump. Also have you ever had the injectors checked? I had the problem you've described and found both the fuel filter needed replaced, and the injectors cleaned and adjusted.

How do I manually pump fuel from tank to engine on a rolls royce silver spur

Hi Danny,

Depends on the year, If a carburettor car, try putting car in gear and hold the key in start position or take wires off oil pressure switches under alternator or bridge out fuel pump relay.

If Fuel injected. Turn Ignition on and off which should give a few seconds of pumping, If you need longer, you will need to bridge out the fuel pump relay.

Why do you want to pump fuel up? I guess you must have a bigger problem?

Removing dash bezel on 1984 rolls royce silver spur

Open the trunk and remove the long bar. American car owners mistakenly refer to this as a tire lug wrench, but all of us RR owners know this is the preferred tool for dash dis-memberment. Just insert and pry.

SIR, I apologize. Forgive my levity. I don't know if their is even a repair manual available to the public for this car. Bezels can be fastened with screws. On ordinary cars, cheap plastic clips retain the bezel in place. I doubt your car has any cheap plastic anywhere.

With plenty of fuel ,engine just cranks over , once in a while will start, but starving for gas. replaced fuel filter turned on key with filter removed and no gas comes out is it my fuel pump bad.mbushey@

yes that sounds like an inoperative fuel pump but before condemning the pump make sure you have key on power to the pump by checking the fuse and relay.

it has a relay that disables spark and fuel when a sensor on the motor detects combustion gasses in the water, this system only usually cuts in after some driving but you could have a faulty relay, Rolls are good with wire colours so follow the wire colour from the fuel pump to the relays (I had the problem with a customers 1995, rolls were unhelpful so I had to do it the hard way!)

When my 1987 Silver spur is warm it takes a while starting and has a gas smell. Thanks

Two things to check intitially, the fuel filter which should be on the frame, driver's side(U.S.A. models) and then the fuel pressure. On these fuel injected models, fuel pressure is critical! Start here and let me know. Once we know these are good, or bad, we can move forward.

Hi I have a RR Silver Spur 1988. Where is the battery please - believe it or not I can't find it:)

Not really sure on a Rolls but if it's not in the usual place on most cars the first place I would check is under the back seat. Benz puts them there.

2001 rr won't start

do u hear the humming sound of the fuel pump inside the gas tank? (faint but audible) you will hear it when u turn the key to on (not cranking position) for about 5 seconds, if u don't hear it pull the gas tank and replace the fuel pump.
