Question about 2000 Volvo S40

2000 Vovlo S40 passenger light out

We have changed the bulb twice, replaced the fuse and replaced the connection to the bulb, it is still not working (the low beam). The high beam works and the parking light is always on. Please help! I am at my wit's end! I hate bringing the car in because it always costs so much! Any ideas?
(the dashboard light saying that a light is out is not on)

I changed the bulb and checked all my fuses but the light still doesn't work. any help would be awesome. thanks

Using a test light, turn the lights on. Remove the bulb and test between each bulb terminal and ground, if the test light goes on, you have a bad ground at the socket.

2000 volvo s40, replaced dash cluster and no dash lights. this did not fix no lights. Any ideas?

Assume you checked 10A fuse 5 in the engine compatment fuse and relay box. The output loops through the passenger compartment fuse and relay box and connects directly to the cluster. Also in the latter box, is 10A fuse 11 which feeds the cluster. Also verify that a black ground wire is connected.

My passenger headlight is out( it goes in an out)...all the fuses are ok and it is not the bulb, replaced with new(even though the old one was not burnt out. The only thing that is missing is the rubber...

The connection the light is either loose or there is a lock that keeps the wire connector lock that keeps it plugged into the light missing or not locking. The only other thing is if there is a short in the wiring to the light. Start your engine and be careful not to get around the fan, then wiggle the wires to the light you are having problems with. See if you can get them it to come off and on. See if it is in the connector or in the wires. Could also be bad connection where the light bulb plugs in.

Volvo S40 Low beam headlight

Sounds like a wire to me. It's definitely not fuses (unless the fuses have been split for left and right hand side which I have never come across, but we are talking about volvo lol) so I'd say most likely there'd be a break somewhere in the harness. The driver's side probably blew as all the power gets sent to one side when one bulb isn't working - so it's working twice as hard usually - making it more susceptable to blowing.
