SOURCE: suspension

Yes, there is a rear ride height sensor.
Looks kind of like a little shock absorber.
You might be able to find it at NAPA or similar parts house.
You're looking at least $100.00 to $175.00 for the part if you can find them.

Here is how to tell if system is working.Get into the vehicle and close door. Set ignition switch to on position and move the gear shifter to neutral. After a few secs. you should hear the compressor turn on. If it comes on then put shifter back to park leave ignition on and exit vehicle. Compressor will stop when you open the door but should start back up in a couple of secs. after you close the door. You can then walk around the vehicle and listen for leaks.
If compressor does not come on there are 3 fuses and a solid state relay that controls it along with the module.
The 3 fuses are no. 109(50amp) in the battery junction box under hood. This is the direct feed to compressor thru the solid state relay. The other 2 fuses are located in the interior fuse panel and they are no. 6 (5amp) and no. 12(15amp).
What we usually see though if compressor does not run is either a bad compressor or the solid state relay. They both are rather expensive so I would have an experience tech look at it then.
However If you feel confident enough and have a voltmeter or test light respond back and I will tell you which wires to check.

If the compressor is working and actually pumping out air, might need to check your lines dont have a leak by disconnecting them from the bags. If pressured air is making it to the end of the line, then bags may need to be inspected and one or both replaced. However it is more likely that the lines are leaking or the compressor pump needs a service. Just a new set of rings in the unit. Good luck, hope it helps.

Try going to a Local Mechanic or Repairing them Yourself. Either way is a LOT Cheaper.

SOURCE: 1995 lincoln town car Rear air suspension problem

If you ask your local lowrider shop, they will know the name of this place, I have forgotten. But there is a company that makes all the parts you could need to fix that whole system. From airbags to hoses, to valves and pumps. But be warned. It aint cheap to fix one. And there's usually more than one little thing wrong, plus the leaks at the hose fittings, it can turn into a money pit and a nightmare. That's why those cars are going for so cheap. They sit too low, and bounce around, and there's not an affordable fix. I'm talking hundreds of dollars just to get started. But, it can be fixed. I've had 'em work right for less than a thousand bucks, but don't count on it. Make sure your system is worth saving, if it's too far gone, just forget it. TT

I have a 2000 deville dts that was doing
the same thing. The problem was the mode door actuator located behind and to the left of the glove box. There is only one there and it is about a 3"x5" black box. Disconnect the electrical connector, two 5.5 mm screws, a little wiggling and pulling straight out, and it's out.

if the front stays up the compressor is working

How to remove air suspension pump?

Replacing your Cadillac DeVille DTS electronic shocks with these reliable non-electronic shocks is a simple installation procedure. Cadillac air suspension fails because of rubber dry rotting, and then leaking. Your air suspension compressor will eventually fail because of this. Cadillac shocks in the front fail because of the seals in the Cadillac shock wearing down over time. They eventually leak, losing its dampening ability needed for a safe and smooth ride. Try cadillac dealership for a little more info.

The rear of the car sets higher than the front, suspension is stiff in the back to. Is there a suspension control system that is not working

There's a level sensor in the back of most cars that have air ride suspension such as Cadillac Devilles.

If there is plenty of pressure, it's probably not a leaky air shock aborber nor is it a bad air pump under the hood.

What is the possible problem when my 98 deville rear suspension is jacked up to the top all the time? is there a way to reset it This occured after the last time I had the car in for repair and then...

I have seen this before. They put car on lift which lets suspension drop. When they set it back down the Air ride leveling rods get stuck and think they need to stay full. Like what was already mentioned, check your levelers located next to your suspension air bags to see if they are stuck.
