You can take your car to most Autozone's and they'll run a free diagnostic check to retrieve the trouble code. That can point you in the right direction to getting the problem fixed. Once you have made the repair the check engine light will go off on it's own after a set amount of key cycles.

Black smoke comes from exhuast when engine gets hot

black smoke is raw gas burning. a rich condition could be the cause---a bad oxygen sensor, a bad map sensor, a bad fuel pressure regulator, a plugged up air filter, or bad injector. if it was a oil problem then you can smell it. when after running til hot. shut off engine and rub finger around inside of tailpipe to tell! have a good one!!

The check engine light is on the code is P0051 H02S heater control circuit low bank 2 sensor. i need to know how to do the repair

FIRST THING IS RESET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND SEE IF CODE RETURNS... RUN IT FOR A LITTLE TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T HAVE BAD GAS.... IF IT STILL COMES ON REPLACE 02 SENSOR LOCATED IN THE EXHUAST PIPE.. THERE SHOULD BE TWO IN PIPE YOU WANT THE ONE CLOSEST TO THE END OF THE EXHUAST PIPE

1991 buick park ave black smoke coming out of exhuast! Can u help

You probably have a service engine light on too. It sounds like your CTS (coolant temp sensor) isn't working and causing the injectors to run rich.

I have problem with my 1995 dodge ram when I drive more then 4 hrs it starts chaking and it slows down. It does not turns off but I cannot run it farter than 30mph after that.

I am assuming the engine maintenance has been kept up. The fuel filter changed and tune ups , oil change has been performed in accordance with the Owners Manual.
Does the check engine light come on?
Is the transmission fluid in good condition ?
If so, The catylic convertor could be the failure The cat is getting very hot and then starts to clog. The engine is not able to release the exhuast gas from the engine. The back pressure from the exhuast is choking the Comustion Chamber with poor air .
I would have the exhuast system checked.
