Question about 1995 Dodge Intrepid
My 1995 Dodge Intrepid had a recall for the fuel rail in 1999. I am the second owner of the vehicle. The previous owner is a friend of mine, and he purchased the car in 1996. He does not recall ever having the recall repair done, and he keeps all of his paperwork. The Dodge dealership I called claims that 2 recall repairs have been done for this vehicle, though none of the paperwork shows any such repair. The car has never even been to a dealership since it was purchased. I was wondering if there was any way to confirm if this has actually been done (any way to get free carfax report, etc.).
A carfax will show excatly what the dealer saystem says that it has been done.. if you see the reinforcements on the rail then it has been completed.. the other one is the floor shifter interlock rod.... have any dealer run the vin number again they can tell you the date and dealer that did the repairs.... if he ever took it in for any type of service at the dealer even a oil change they have to repair it at no charge maybe he just dont remember it getting done.. the wife or family member may have used the car... but once you have the date and dealer that did it work it may help jog some memory..if the rail is leaking and the repairs are shown to have ben done you can purchase the repair parts on your own from a dealer CADJ7902 is the rail package..
