Sound like a warped head, cracked head, or a head gasket. Have the radiator pressure tested and check the engine compression. As for the fan check fan relay and fuses other than that could be wiring or bad fan motor.

99 ford windstar will crank but wont start after over heating?

While overheating may be the issue, does the exhaust emit a steam-like cloud or sweet smell? There is a part which cuts off power to the fuel pump. This part is called an Inertia sensor. If a door or the hood is slammed, it can activate.

It is usually behind a front floor kickpanel and has a reset button on it. Read the Web for articles showing photos.

1996 Ford Taurus is heating up really quick if driven 5 - 10 minutes over 60 mph

If water pump is old, like over 70,000 miles on it,replace it when you do the fan belt and tensioner.
A new thermostat and a radiator flushing might also be in order. don-ohio (:^)

I bought a 2001 ford ka, the car still seems to be running hot. By that i mean from a cold start is able to use the heater on full heat within a minute, the engine is getting hot really fast and the...

ford KA has the same "problem"as some other cars in as much you should "vent the topmost hot hose, after flushing or refilling the system."...with the engine running and the cap off the expansion tank.undo the clip on the topmost hot hose and allow any air to vent(wear rubber gloves, cos its real hot...)then top up the tank.

Check the water level. If the water is low it will not allow water into the heater core to produce heat. If there is water keep an eye on your temperature gauge It should reach at least 140 to 170 degrees. If it is staying colder than that you have a stuck thermostat which is allowing the water to flow to much and not let the engine warm up. The only other solution is if the fan is not working properly replace the fan relay for you blower.

02PTCRUISER HEATING UP SLOWLY BUT WHEN STOPED HEATS FAST,FANS WORK ,THERMASTAT SEEMS TO WORK WATER TURNS, DOESNT HAVE ANY ANTIFREEZE IS THAT THE PROBLEM?

of course thats the problem. if you had a manual on the pt you will find that this is a pressurized system and just water without antifreeze changes the boiling point. Flush the systen and put the correct amount of antifreeze in, and replace the radiator cap with a 12-18lb cap.

Ok, fans work but you should replace temp. sensor so they come on automatic. If the temp gauge inside the car is getting really hot its either because the termostat is stuck closed or your water pump is pumping water to circulate it through the radiator and engine

Three possible solutions:

1. Bad Thermostat

2. Fan Relay (most likely)

3. Bad Fan

When the GC reaches a temp of 180 Deg. F the fan relay sends a signal to the fan to turn on, once the temp lowers (around 155 Deg. F) the relay turns off the fan, and so the cycle continues. If the relay is bad there will be no signal to the fan to run. While you are driving your vehicle there is ambient air moving thru the radiator, cooling the engine, but once you encounter slow/heavy traffic or stop there is no air moving and the temp goes up, the fan will not kick in and the vehicle will overheat.

If the fan motor is not working the same will happen, but a more expensive fix, as the motor comes with the fan.

If the Thermostat is stuck in the open position, the water travels to fast in the engine and heat exchanging is not an efficient process, therefore the vehicle might overheat when stopped or in slow traffic.
