I have a 1999 mustang, the driver side door was fine then all of a sudden would not stay shut. the door latch won't latch. could this be a electrical problem? it has electric locks

probably that the latch is in the first lock position preventing it from locking properly
use a round bladed screw driver , place it under the latch and press the door button and the same time pulling the latch out

How do I fix the Left side Sliding Door on my 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan?

have the hinges dropped or a catch remained locked in placem sounds like it. The door should be removed for inspection and diagnosis repair, somebody who repairs such vehicles would probably be the place to sort it out.
If your mechanical/electrical skills are upto par you might do it yourself....sounds like a mechanical issue really

good luck

I am adding more info. Whenever I get in the van, I flip the lock knob and it locks all the doors...for me, its a safety feature...suddenly..it didn't work..I tried opening and closing the driver door many...

The "lock knob" actually activates an electric switch that allows current to flow to a series of solenoids (switches) that power the lock/unlock mechanisms in each door. Since your key fob works, the mechanism is OK. Just the electric switch is bad. And only the switch in the driver's door. Replace it and the locks should work properly.

The electric doorlocks don't function

anytime anything electrical suddenly stops working, check the fuse. if blown, replace, if blows again, find the short.

95 T-Bird key will not unlock or lock doors on either side.

The lock you stick the key into is mechanical. There is also an electric solenoid that moves the latch on each door.

Passenger side sliding power lock will not work, stopping suddenly. all other power locks working perfectly. any suggestions?

Probably a broken wire going into the door--check & repair--or electric plunger lock is worn out or disconnected--check for power at electric lock--if power--replace .

The locks mysteriously stopped working. Suddenly, the button on the driver's door to look the doors wouldn't work. I then realized that it won't even lock with the key. I tried again the next day and...

If something electric works at all, whether correctly or incorrectly, the fuse is fine.A fuse would cause absolutely no operation. It sounds as if there is a bad switch within the driver's door since it is the main activator. If the switch comes loose or partially breaks/cracks mechanically,it could easily cause these symptoms. It usually isn't wiring because it doesn't move. The switch goes up and down constantly for years. The armrest usually is held on with 2 or 3 phillips screws. If you remove them, the switches and wiring should be right there. If you do get to the main switch, please tell me what wires are attached to that particular switch and I will figure out how you can do a quick check to see if it is the problem.Greg

The electric door locks quit working on an 05 T&C. is there something that I can do without going to the dealer? I pulled ioc fuse several times.it only works for a short time after that

I don't know if this will help but the electric door lock (driver-side, rear, sliding door) of our '05 T&C stopped working and the mechanic (was shopped for minor wreck damage) indicated that the lock actuator was at fault and he had none in stock. It did not get replaced and, of course, still is not working - electrically.
