Its one of the fuses under the hood not sure which one but its one of the small ones you will have to look in the manual or just check all of the small ones and replace the one that is blown i think its a 5 watt you are going to want to replace it with a 10 or 15 watt this is what they told me to do at the car audio store

Where is the fuse that powers the radio located in the fuse box on a 85 mercury cougar

it should be in the fuse box under the hood, but you may find another fuse box under the dash as well, some radios have a line fuse in the power wire to the radio, you might have to take the radio out to get to it ,but check the other fuses first.....hope this helps .....cheers

A/c n heat dont work also now has a lot of radio noise

Im guessing no fan function? If so check the fuse to the heat/ac fan. Test power at heater motor, If power and ground are present with key on and switch on? the motor needs replaced, As for the radio noise, Go to any audio storer or most parts stores and get a radio noise suppressor

1993 mercury cougar radio blows when insalled pleeeeze help

Make sure your ground wire at the car did not get fried to a hot wire. It may have fire. That is the only reasonable thing it could be if it is blowing radios...

1993 mercury cougar radio blows when insalled pleeeeze help

Some vehicles will not support aftermarket radios. The original radio wiring supports some functions of the vehicle, example being an alarm, interior lights, etc. It is possible one of the circuits has a blown fuse, and the radio is not compatible with your car.

Speakers went out

First, hotwire any working speaker to one that is out...If that speaker works, then replace the bad one. If the known good one does not work, you need to check wiring and radio itself.

1999 Mercury Radio don't turn on.

check for a accesories fuse if that is not blown or is non existent then you might have to pull your raido out and check the fuse that should be on the wire. by plugging in your emergency battery charging device you might have shorted out and popped the fuse on the raido. if none of this is the problem then it may possibly be that your "power" wire might have melted when the battery charger device shorted the circuit.

have a nice day and a nice year and i hope this fixes your problem.
