Question about 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Jeep Grand Cherokee power outlet

The front power outlet on my jeep is now not working. I need it for cell phone, etc. I have checked the fuse and seems to be fine. Also the gear shift light works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. Could this be related? I don't want to take it to the dealership and end up with a huge bill for something I could fix myself.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, 2 12 V outlets not working. Changed fuse #26 (15A) that was burnt. Still, to no avail. What else can I check besides the cigar lighter fuse. Power outlet fuse seems okay.

stick a test light probe in there and see if there's power at the center. if not, trace the wire back to fuse block. Also, test all fuses with test light just to make sure you got the right one! If problem is related it could be a poor ground.

The washer pump is located on the washer bottle. Must check for power at pump when applying switch if no power (12 volts) check fuse or curcuit. If it has power replace pump. Also: if pump is operational check hoses for resteictions.

The power outlet on a 2000 jeep Grand Cherokee stopped working

check the fuse with a test light for power. if there is power on both sides of the fuse carefully insert the test light into the outlet and check the very center for power...if there is no power you have a wiring or connection problem.. if there is only power on one side of the fuse the fuse is bad
