Error message on cd player

I get ER3 and ER6 messages on my cd player. It can be with a regular cd or a burnt cd , and it is not all the time. It will sometimes play fine for a little while, and then skip or eject the cd.

Mhorton147: Good news if your car is no more than 3 years old or has 36,000 miles on it! KIA has been repairing and/or replacing CD players under warranty for problems where it won't play all the time, cd's get stuck, they eject and so on. the

Reference to the service bulletin is # KT2006032401
The bulletin was sent to the dealers: May 29th 2006
Even if your car has a little over the mileage, it's almost a sure bet they will buy the repair. If the service dept says no, go to the regional office an rattle their cage a little.
Good luck....Give the folks at Fixya some feedback if I'm doing anyone any good, I need some "ATTABOY's to build up the rep you know! All kidding aside, if you feel I've helped, the folks at Fixya would like to know.
Good luck!

My radio on my 2001 accent wont play cds it says error code 6, does anyone know the security code?

Hi there:

From Hyundai Owners Manual: Er6 - DISC ERROR - CHECK IF THE DISC IS INSERTED CORRECTLY IN THE CD PLAYER.
MAKE SURE THE DISC IS NOT SCRATCHED OR DAMAGED.

Error 6 means your laser isn't reading disc... needs replaced pick up laser. I would try first to insert a clean up CD and test your CD Player with an original CD, if the problem persist, you have to go to fix it to a specialist.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

you may have set the cd burn onto mp3 instead of audio cd... if you're using a program like itunes, you can determine the output to be mp3 or cd audio... hope that helps...

Trying to play a burnt cd in my 2006 impala

it sound to me like the issue is not with the player, but with how the cd's were burned.  Make sure you are closing the seesion and that you are burning an audio cd and not an audio data cd.

Toyota Avalon 2000 xls cd player does not work

If you are using "home-made" or "burnt" CDs, this can happen. Sometimes, you can remove the radio from the dash, and unplug it. That may reset the CD player, and the discs will eject.
It works for me about 85% of the time. Hope this helps.
