Question about 1984 Dodge Caravan
I have a 1974 Dodge Jamboree Recreational Vehicle (not an '84 Caravan!). Where is the water pump located in this vehicle that's for pumping water to the shower and the sink in the rear of the RV? I need to remove and replace it, but I don't know where it is!
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I own one of these. If it's a 3.5 engine, (original answer is incorrect, Dodge didn't make a 3.8 that year), you'll need to remove the entire front of the engine. (timing cover forward, because the waterpump is driven by the timing belt)
You'll have to remove the cross member over the radiator. Drain the radiator. Disconnect the transmission coolant lines, remove the radiator. Remove the serpentine belt, harmonic balancer (main pulley, and you'll need a puller, or you'll mess it up), remove the timing cover, remove the timing belt tensioner, remove the water pump. To put it back together, do it all in reverse with the following exceptions.
The timing belt tensioner must be closed in a vise, and held with a heavy pin.
Align both cam timing marks (they're on the top of the heads.)
Insert the tensioner and tighten it back up
It takes some patience, and a few tries, took me 5.
but that's all there is to it.

the cooling fan relay is not in the fuse box.
it is a solid state relay bolted to the radiator core support just behind the bumper

Go to the auto parts store and buy the repair manuel and read the water pump replacement section before trying the replacement. Its a good idea to find some experienced help also.

you must undo the three pully bolts turn the pully so it slips behind the mounting flange , then you should be able to wiggle it out , if it still hangs on frame you a long pry bar and push between frame and crankshaft bolt just hard enough to move engine slightly, this will definitly work and repeat to install. PS use a little RTV silicon to hold seal on new pump.
