Re: nissan 300zx starts smoking when reaches tempture
Sounds like your rings are leaking oil into the cylinder.. causes blue smoke. would not do it until it is warm due to the higher viscosity of the oil at cold. try some ring seal and see if that reduces it.

It sounds like you may have a bad head gasket or even cracked , When the car get warm it opens up and if your rad fluid is going it your cylinders and causing the car to misfire and smoke . The easiest way to tell the health of your motor is to do a compression test and look at the oil and rad fluid .
Sounds to me like you had an electrical burn out or near fire condition. Water may have gotten into an open area like wiring harness or fuse block and caused a short and what you were smelling is the insulation or other plastics burning. I would take the car to a auto electric specialist for diagnostics.
its running very RICH !!!! TOO MUCH GAS!
check the air fuel mix & the air filter!
it needs a good tune up!
& get the injectors either cleaned or replaced
the fuel injectors from the factory are renound for leaking & setting fire to this model!
you can buy aftermrket injectors that eliminate the this
It sounds like you may need valve seals.
The oil sits in the head after the engine is cut off and leaks around the seals into the cylinder.
When you start the engine it burns the oil and sends the smoke out of the tailpipes.
It does not hurt anything much if it is not to bad.
trust me its one of the turbos if you take it out for a spin get the turbos working there will be no smoke leave it ticking over for 2-3 mins and the smoke will start if this is the case it is one of the turbos i had it with a new pair
