7.3 dissel starts right up, no smoke at all. it seems at about 1000rpm the motor is just runs rough shakes going down the steet. if you step on it it ahs plenty of power no smoke. Parked and ideling it seem to be doing the same thing rough. I have put fuel injecter cleaner in but still has not help. As I said runs down the highway at 70mph no miss no smoke, just when it gets down in the 1000 to 1200 rpm range.

Re: 1995 ford f250 7.3 dissel runs rough
How many miles is on the engine?
If it's close to 140,000 miles then it's over due for timing chain and timing guide change.
A loose timing chain will offset timing.
Before you do the next oil change. Add a motor flush to clean out the internal parts and free up the rings.
This is the inexpensive method to restore some of the lose compression.
Do a 5-10 minutes high rpm highway ran (NO REDLINE).
This will blow out the soot in the exhaust system.
Check your vehicle emission batch under the hood.
If it's from California or has California emission then let look for the catalytic converter.
Over time it can become restructed.
As a test, loosen the bolts at the collector pipe and do a short test ran.

Problem is not solved but I did change the fuel filter, coil pack,ICM and have proper fuel pressure to the motor. Car starts but dies right away. I cant seem to find out if the fob on the key ring has something to do with stopping the motor. This fob says Radio Key by Secure Key with a number 35077 stamped on this thing.. Still trying to find out what this is and does it effect the cars ability to run
you dont tell me about first thing in the morning after the engine cooled /is it putting out blue smoke does it start easy /i came across a v6 in the past that done the same thing and even the old vw engine was known to do it ,broke the crankshaft,this would not allow the engine to fire right/advancing /retarting the timing.take all fuel filters out and put fuel direct to the engine and let it breath without air filter and see what happens, to what you tell me this lady is not getting enough fuel.but remember alwaws start at the start this whole problem could be a bad spark plug line .why not take a look under the hood after dark if everything is ok then you know to look further.come back to me on this one .adrian;;;;
leake intake manafold or bad vac line... try warm soapy water on running motor out of a spray bottle to find leak... the reason the censor seemed to hel is that the take time to set them selfs... after set back to square 1 leak in the air side of motor... typical in your car...
could be many problems. Do u have a check engine light on in the dash? May also want to check spark plug wires, cap and rotor. Spray them with water while the motor is running, if it acts funny, bad wires or cap/rotor.
I need to know which engine is in ur golf ex: 1.8l 2.0l
I'm wondering if your injectors are leaking. If they are, and the car sits for a period of time like you're saying, fuel would puddle up and the car would run extremely rich until the excess puddled fuel burned off. Did you (or do you) notice black smoke from the tailpipe during the time the car is running really rough? Take a look and see - rev the engine if you need to, and see if you see some. It'd take a few minutes to burn off, and once it did, as long as the rest of the car is working right, you'd run normally. If you shut the car off for a short time (ie, getting gas, renting a movie) the car likely wouldn't sit long enough for enough fuel to puddle up for the condition to recur. If you park it overnight, that's plenty of time for the injectors to leak enough fuel for the car to run rough on startup.
No guarantee of course, but that's what sounds like a worthwhile investigation to me.
