Question about 1990 Mazda MX-5
It sounds like it could be a breathing problem. try replacing the air filter or fuel filter this is a pretty inexpensive way to resolve a problem like this. if that doesn't work then it may be a clogged fuel injector run some fuel injector cleaner through the gas and see if it improves.
