Thanks for your very quick reply

I'll ask my mate to check again. I'm
unsure what the scanner is called, but will find out for you. It is quite big!
(I know that doesn't help)! lol

Also forgot to mention the car stays in
limp mode till I switch off and start again.

My car is a golf gti 1.8 180 2003 which keeps going into limp mode. I have had a diagnostic check carried out , new turbo fitted , new throttle body, full service , new filters. When you take your foot off the accelerator the car goes back to full power. Diagnostic check shows no faults.

Check it in eobd as well as vw specific what scanner did you use to check for the fault code ? because when that light comes on it has logged a code,it could be anything from a brake light switch to the vains sticking in the turbo

2006 chrysler pacifica hesitates on acceleraton then only goes 20 mph

This is known as " limp mode " and I am surprised the dealer didn't run diagnostics because the problem would be logged into the ecu of the car.any problem such as fuel delivery , electronic system , transmission ,instruments to brakes etc should flag up if you encounter a limp mode episode.sometimes it is something simple such as slightly low oil pressure or low fuel ,
sometimes they happen out of the blue and then everything runs as normal so you need to keep a diary of what you where doing and when to try and pinpoint the problem.the car is simply trying to limit engine damage by reducing the revs....best bet is to get it to a garage and ask them to run a quick OBD test.(on board diagnostics) they connect a computer which reads the EMS ( engine management system).next time it does happen check the dashboard lights to see if the yellow car icon light comes on.this is the engine management system light.if you feel like you can tackle this yourself click the you tube link below which explains how to obtain a code reader to pinpoint what may be the problem.with this tool you can reset the EMS and wait for the car to misbehave again but keep the journeys local until you have found out what is going on.

If the light stays on when your moving that shows a problem....I think that what your seeing is the computer testing the verious curcuits as its programmed to do

Engine managment light flashes (glow plugs light)

the car is going into limp mode due to an engine management fault. have to check what the fault is with a code reader. if the milage is high 100,000+ could be a turbo fault (overboosting), as this will put the car into limp mode.

The over drive off light keeps blinking and it won't go over 15 mph

your car is going into limp mode due to a code in the system. Limp mode only performs the car to get to the dealer, and save the transmission so no further damage is done. Take it to the dealer and have them read the transmission codes and the abs system codes just in case.

Mondeo diesal 2002, glow plug light

Hi

The glow plug coming on on the Diesel Mondeo is an engine management fault indicator. The car goes into "limp mode" when this happens or in other words safety mode is triggered. This explains your loss of power.

To find the cause of this light coming on - the car will have to go on an OBD scanner at a service shop which will read the codes stored in the cars computer and give you an answer as to what is causing the fault to show.

Hope this helps - please remember to rate my answer as ratings are important to me as an expert on the site. Thank You.

Code 24 is a vehicle speed signal sensor fault, the sensor most likely does not provide a useable signal until about 25 MPH, when the computer doesn't see any signal after that speed it turns on the light. Make sense?
