Before you purchase the part you should check to make sure there is power to the actuator. This part will not be returnable once you install the part. Even if you don't use the part they will charge you a restocking fee of around 15%. Start from the switch and check all the way down to the actuator. Check the switch and check the wires for areas that may be broken or shorted out.

I have a 2002 ford f150 5.4L 4 door my 4x4 wont work but I can hear my transfer case ingage but it dosent catch can it be my front UJ's?

If it was front U-joints, you would have gotten under there
& checked them, before you came here, not ask us for a
guess

I would say check scan tool data for the transfer case,
then work on that issue

May have a failed encoder motor

How to replace a 4x4 actuator on a 2003 f150

at the rear of the transfer case you will find the actuator, ten millimeter bolts and electrical connector, remove these, the actuator will then pull off the shift position selector shaft, ensure the shaft is timed with the actuator and then replace. assemble in reverse order of removal

If your truck has Vacume actuated hubs check the vacume lines running to the hubs right behind the brake rotor. If it has the electronic actuated hubs, check connectors / and or replace actuator motor on the front diff. Also possible Transfer case motor seized if you have push button 4x4

Indicator for 4x4 wont stay lit

that is why the light flashes and goes off, it times out, the transfer case actuator motor has most likely failed or there is damage to the wiring to the transfer case, go under the truck and chack for wiring damage at transfer case which is at reat of the transmission.

1997 chevy blazer. when I push the 4wd button, it flashes and goes out. wont go to 4wd.

Check the fuse to the 4x4, if the fuse is good then check the 4x4 electric motor actuator on the transfer case. You should hear it work from 2wd, 4hi to 4low and back to 2wd with the push of the switch. if you don't hear it working then check the wire harness at the actuator motor, look for any damages like corrosion or cracked wire connector clips. If all electrical is in good working order, replace the actuator motor. If the 4x4 actuator is working on the transfer case, then the front hub 4x4 actuator may have gone bad and that's located on the front differential. It's common for the clip there to corrode and break and is an easy fix with a new collar pin, at worst it's the diaphragm on the vacuum actuator that is located under the battery tray. There is a vacuum switch on the top of the transfer case, driver side but when that fails, your front hub stay's locked in the on position. Good luck and keep me posted and hope it's a simple fuse that has gone bad. You can pick up all these parts at Auto Zone or Parts Source and they will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools.

4x4 not working 0n 91 chevy pickup k 1500

http://www.4x4posi-lok.ca/ this is a website that sells cable style actuators for the chevy pickups. this replaces the thermal actuator with a push pull cable they also sell permanant locks but be forewarned a permanant lock will hurt fuel economy a little. a cable also lets you put your transfer case into 4 LOW and lets you leave the axle disconnected if you need the extra power but do not need the 4wheel drive to work.

The 4x4 d'oes'nt work the light on 4x4 low and hi?

Do you hear any clicking sound when you pusg the button for 4 wd? If so check fluid in the T case, and check to make sure that the wiring to the actuator is connected and check to see that the actuator iws actually working. The problem is probably that the actuator is not working.
