The only thing left in this system is the fuel pressure regulator. You need to check pressure before the regulator and after the regulator if there is the problem then you need to replace it. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer.

My 1996 Pontiac Grand Am is having problems when accelerating. I have already replaced the fuel filter, the catalytic converter, the spark plugs, and air filter. What is going on with my car?

Have you checked the fuel pressure because it sounds like a weak fuel pump.Your fuel pressure should be 41-47 with key on and engine off.If its not within these specs then replace the fuel pump.Anything below 41 psi would be considered weak.

My 1996 pontiac grand am gt will start but then immediately dies. Could it be fuel filter problems? Is that (hopefully) more likely than a fuel pump? How can I find out w/o spending a fortune?

More than likely its your fuel pump.Hook a fuel gauge to the fuel rail then turn key on engine off and check pressure it should be 41-47 psi if its not within specs replace pump and always replace fuel filter when replacing pump.Go to www.rockauto.com and if you need a pump you can get a pump and filter for under $200.00.

Has a misfire's on cly 1,3,4 and I have replaced spark plugs, wires, coil, rotor button, and rotor cap. I have had a fuel pump go out but I have replaced it and I am only getting 45 to 50 psi at the fuel...

Im sure if its fuel causing your misfire but here are the fuel pressure specs depending on which one pertains to yours if your has a TBI Throttle Body Injected the the fuel pressure should be approx.9 to 13 psi if you have Multiport Fuel Injected (MFI) then the pressure should be approx. 41 to 47 psi if its Central Multiport Fuel Injected (CMFI) then the pressure should be approx.58 to 64 if you have Central Sequential Electronic Fuel Injected (CSEFI) then the pressure should be approx. 55 to 61 all these pressures are key on engine off if you start the engine and take a reading then you will have a decrease in reading by about 3 to 10 psi.

check fuel pressure.sound like fuel pump not working.fuel pressure should be 41 - 47 psi. if not replace fuel filter, still too low pump faulty, if you not getting fuel pressure, pump still not working check fuel pump fuse and relay.code scan car first look for fault in pcm.it controls the fuel pump relay and fuel pump.

My 1996 chevy blazer is not getting fuel through the throttle body. we check fuel pressure and its at 41. so thats not it if you spray starting fluid in the carberator it will start. so that means its not...

Hi, don't you have the 4.3 liter engine with sequential fuel injection? If yes, then your injectors are not working. Can you hear them click when the engine is cranked? If not, the problem may be with the camshaft position sensor or possibly the anto-theft system. Is the secuiity light on? Is the engine light staying on? Please check fuses 5 and 10. See diagram below.

To get the truck staret need to put gas on the carburator

Probably needs fuel pump. Try to start while someone raps the bottom of fuel tank with 2x4. If it starts, the pump is bad.

The car ran out of gas and I had to put 5 gallons in it to get it start yesterday then today it has between emety and and quarter tank and would not fire... I can hear the pump run and so I put 3 more...

WHEN YOU RUN OUT OF GAS IT WILL CAUSE FUEL PUMP DAMAGE CAUSING IT TO OVERHEAT.CHECK FUEL PRESSURE IT SHOULD BE 41 - 47 PSI. IF NOT REPLACE FUEL FILTER.IF FUEL PRESSURE STILL LOW OR 0 . FUEL PUMP BAD.

How much fuel pressure does a 94 s-10 have ( stock )

HI. with the pump running , it should be 41-47 psi (284-325 kPa). When the pump stops pressure may vary slightly, then should hold steady.(Multi Port fuel injection assembly)

On a Central Sequential Fuel injection assembly,
The pressure should be 60-66 psi (415-455 kPa).

Car ran out of gas. put gas in it now it wont start

The fuel lubricates the fuel pump, so if you ran completly out you may have burned out the fuel pump. First you can do a fuel pressure test, it should be 41-47 psi, if low replace filter and check again. If still low verify pump is getting power then replace. Thanks
