Under the hood on the emissions decal should say what degre the timing should be set at. ther is a one wire plug that is brown with a black stripe u need to un plug befor seting the timing with a timing light . u can usually find that under the glove box or behind wher the fuel pump relay is . i think the timing is set at 4 degres on the timing pointer but look for the decal first too make sure im right.

yuo need a timing light.loosen the distributor.hook up the timing light.(red to positive on battery,black wire on battery gound side,and other wire on #1 plug wire).make a mark on the timing marks and on the harmonic balancer.turn the distributor until the marks line up.
Turn the engine by hand till the timing mark on the pulley is aligned with 0 on the timing scale (right side of pulley) If the rotor is pointing at the rear of the engine, turn one more time...it is now pointing at #1. cylinders are 1,3,5,7 on drivers side, 2,4,6,8 on passenger side (front to back) Order is 18436572.
The Chevy 3/4 and 1 ton trucks had an opion for a 454, The Blazer did not but I suppose it could have been special ordered with a 454.

There are timming marks on the cam gear and crank gear, you can use a strate edge to chk. to see if you got them lined up right, there will be a mark on a tooth on one gear, and the other mark will be between two teeth. just line them up and you got it.
