I had that problem... check under your hood... check all your intaken hoses...if that especially the one coming from your air sensor.. mine blew a tiny hole after i got bad gas... the part costed me 5.50 at the junk yard and all you need is a philps screw driver to change it. if that doesn't help check your vaccume hoses or fuel filter.

There are a few things to check a lot of people don't know this but your shocks and struts if bad can put more load on the engine and cause fuel mileage to drop other things are a tune up plugs air filter and fuel filter. If your check engine light is on then you could have a bad oxygen sensor that will cause a drop in fuel mileage hope this helps you out

Hello, my '90 corolla stumbles, misfires and has no smooth acceleration, i have replaced, plugs cap wires rotor fuel filter and performed compression check, also verfied timing marks @ tdc.. no check

How long has this been going on? Could be a bad tank of gas... do you fill up at good stations like Chevron or the cheap Mexican ones? Also if you filled up when the tanker truck was filling the station you may have ended up with a tank full of sediment; there's a lot of gunk in their underground tanks and when the tanker tops it off the filling action stirs up a lot of that ****. Try filling the tank with some high-quality 87 octane (91 will make it worse) after putting a bottle of fuel system cleaner in the tank. You should also try pulling the codes; some codes do not cause the check engine light to illuminate but are still stored by the PCM. If all else fails, go back to the basics... fuel, spark and pressure. If you can eliminate two you should be able to make your job easier.

The ck engine light is telling you to have it scanned and it will have a trouble code to indicate where to look for the problem. You may have a Vent valve or purge valve problem, it may just be a coincidence that it happened after filling up.

My check engine light will come on and my car will run rougher if I put in "subatandard" gasoline for too long. If you look in your manual, it will tell you the same thing. The easiest way for me to fix it was to go to a higher-end gas station like Chevron or Shell, fill up my tank with mid-grade or higher and throw in a bottle of good fuel injection cleaner. The manual says that you need to put at least 8 gallons of fuel in for it to make any difference to the sensors. It has always worked for me. The check engine light has turned off either immediately or within a few miles. I hope this helps!

Could be bad gas, water in the gas? Run the tank down to about 1/4 and put gas from somewhere else in it. Maybe higher octane for one tank full. Maybe put an additive in with it. If it clears up, then it was the gas.

Rough idle, cruise control also stopped working

Sounds like you could have gotten some water in your fuel tank from that fill up. Go to a autoparts store and get a product to put in the tank that takes care of water in fuel. Use it when you fill the tank up a few times after and hopefully it goes away. Whenever you can't sustain power in the engine or it runs rough then your cruise control will constantly be shut off because the engine doesn't have the power to keep the speed up and should go away once your engine is running clean again.

Good Luck

Suzuki grand vitara 2000 model the engine light blinks

Take your rig.. drive it to a gas station.. fill the tank up with gas.. also fill 2 jugs of gasoline at the same time... put the jugs in the back of it.. now drive as far as you can until the rig runs out of gas.. then, take the two jugs of gas.. pour it all over the rig, inside and out.. now light it a-blaze, then walk to your nearest car dealer and buy a new car..
