I had the same problem in 2007. The Ford dealer in Schulenburg, Texas replaced a small plastic piece in the transmission that broke. It was about a $900.00 job, but thank God the car was still under warranty. This solved the problem and the car has been running fine ever since.

I have a 2003 Honda Civic hybrid. For some reason while driving and the engine temp goes half ways the car seems like it won’t go into gear. For example when I stop at a stop sign the car won’t catch gear...

Your transmission might have a broken ban . This ring or spacer is between every gear when they go the gears don't line up. Check your trans mission fluid and make sure to use the proper fluid for your make. If the transmission is going it usually starts shifting into gear hard.. It will be jerky then eventually have a problem with one gear which will lead to all gears .

Mitsubishi lancer my gears wont go into gear or reverse at all

I assume you have a manual transmission. There are three main possibilities:

1. The clutch slave cylinder has failed. Its on the front side of the transmission. If its leaking, replace it. If its not, you should be able to see the actuator shaft move about 12mm or so when someone presses the clutch.

2. If the actuator shaft does not move, the clutch master cylinder has failed. Replace it.

3. If the actuator shaft does move the right distance, there's a problem with the clutch itself, which means removing the transmission and replacing the clutch.

4. Before doing that, pull your battery out and check that the 4 M10 bolts that secure the transmission to the engine are still present. There's two bolts at the top of the trans, and two more at the bottom edge of the engine block.

2005 KIA SEDONA GEAR STICK FLOPPY / BROKE?

there is a bushing for the shifter in the console that holds the stick in place. if this bushing is broken it will let the stick move freely without changing gears.

My vehicle was moving then later indicate neutral and stop I try to engage the gear but the vehicle won't move why

If the gear indicator changed to neutral without you doing anything, I would say the transmission selector switch has failed. The switch tells the computer what position the shifter is in.

2000 Ford Tarus- Took off from stop sign just fine then car wouldn't go faster. As I pushed the gas, the car reved but wouldn't go. Pulled over and shut car off. Started car again and tried...

I would guess that something inside of the transmission has failed and there is no longer a mechanical connection between the motor and the drive axles regardless of what gear you attempt to move in.[sheared splines, broken planetary, etc.] Often when this happens you won't hear any kind of noise because of the failed parts being inside the transmission case...instead the car just won't go anymore. You could have a CV drive axle joint that has failed but generally they will make some noticable rattling or grinding noise as they churn away when you try to go forward or reverse. If something has failed inside of the transmission then the transmission will need to be removed and repaired. It if is just a drive axle joint that has failed then that can be replaced without doing anything to the transmission. Hope this helps and good luck!

What maintenace Does a 2003 Toy Rav4 manual transmission need?

The manual transmission oil, or gear box oil can't last forever. It is a good idea to replace every 60K miles with a new one. Just as with motor oil, and oil change is cheap insurance. Buy synthetic oil if you can.
The manual transmission oil change is a simple procedure, but can complicated and creates costly problems.
First remove the filling bolt. In some cases this is siezed, If the heating doesn't help, you don't want a stripped filler bolt, with an empty transmission. Use WD-40 and do not use extensive force.
If the bolt still won't budge. Stop. Lower the car and visit a shop for service.
After removing the filler bolt (upper), then remove the drain bolt at the bottom.
Replace the drain bolt, with a new one, normally has a magnet, and thread it by hand after with a wrench.
Fill the gearbox with oil using a gear oil / lube pump. Replace the filling bolt and process same as with draining bolt.
If you will change the gear box oil every 60K miles this is the best insurance for your manual transmission. DO NOT FORGET TO REPLACE FILLING AND DRAINING BOLTS WITH NEW ONE.
In rare cases a rusty bolt is siezed, almost rust welded in the transmission housing, so the transmission must be removed and taken to a machine shop.

1997 pontiac sunfire manual transmission won't shift out of gear.

What you can try is to remove the shift cables from the transmission side. then move the shifter and see if everything is free if it's still sticks then the cables are going to be replaced. if everything is moving with the cable off. then you need to remove the shift tower on the tranny (where the shift cable is I belive it's 5 bolts) remove the tower and you will see the shift pin. Inside the tower there is a cotter pin that breaks and that will cause you to have one gear and unable to selected another gear. If you are not mech inclined I would no attemped the shift tower repaire, the cables do it will save you money. The shift tower has bushings that can fall into the tranny.
