Shorted out CD player? 2002 Venture

I too have a cd stuck in the cd player of my 2002 Venture, but in my case, I think it shorted out when I turned the ignition on (I had been playing it when the engine was off).

Can anyone please tell me if there is an easy way to change the fuse myself and where it is located before I pay someone to remove the CD player?

Thanks!

I, too, have a stuck CD. 2004 Venture Van The eject switch is dead and the Auxillary switch is dead leaving me unable to switch over to the DVD system either. It's a loss of power but I'm unable to find any fuse. Both radio fuses are good and radio is good. Just can;t eject the cd or switch the auxillary switch over from radio to CD or enertainment center. Can put a DVD in the enertainment center and dject it but that's all. There are two fuse blocks, one under the hood. I believe it was F8 which was a circuit breaker and everything else on it works and the other was 28 or 29 fuse and it works the radio. There is a panel on the right end of the dash. Checked one fuse there to no avail. No other possibilities showing in the manual as other features on the fuses are all working as far as I can see. Can anyone help?

The fuse is under the hood--it's a maxi 60 fuse, that controls a few things, so it's easy to change. You have to remove the battery cover(unclip and unscrew the thumb bolt on top). If you figure out how to get the stuck cd out, let me know, I've had one stuck in mine since December--luckily the radio still works.

In my case completely changing the radio out fixed it, so for me, the problem had nothing to do with the fuse. We don't have a dvd player, though, so I'm not sure, how changing the stereo would effect that.

IF you used a knife to attempt to remove the second cd that was stuck and the blade went UNDER the cd, it might have hit the the head of the cd player and shorted something out. IT might have also cause the head to be jammed and it wont move. The only thing that you can do now is remove it.

I have a 2005 Ford 500. I have twoo CD"S stuck in the player. How do I remove them?

If the two cd's which are stuck, if you can see that cd's then pull the cd with pliers. Its a two mouth pliers to pull the things out.The cd may get cracked/ break while removing. But if the cd's are not seen or its very hard stuck, then in that case. The cd player has to be removed out of dash.Yes it will be time consuming, and will not be very simple. But once the player is out, its not much to do.The cd player bottom has few screws to be removed.Once you remove the screws, the complete top assembly will get lifted. You can say" complete casing" will be lifted.Once the casing is out.You will visually see the cd, and you can manually slide the cd out and remove it.---------- ---------- Click this link for cd player removing procedure from dash :--------- http://whoisbyme.blogspot.com/2011/08/how-to-remove-cd-player-from-dash-of.html ----------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

How to remove a cd stuck in the cd player?? It stays lit? And all it says is ''track ------'' nothing else. When i turn the car off it is still lit.

I had a similar problem and the only way I found to remove the CD was to take the head unit out, by carefully removing the surrounding facia with a flat bladed knife. It was then a case of easing the CD out, but the problem was that the CD player was broken. You can send the head unit away via Jeep which will cost approximately £400, or in my case my local dealer had a brand new head unit on the shelf from a customer upgrade which I bought for £200 + vat.

I have a cd stuck in my cd player.. any tips for

Try turning the radio off and then disconnect the battery for 1 min. After reconnecting the battery, turn the radio on and this might reset the radio and the CD may come out. Good luck and hope this helps and just make sure the radio is off or the radio may ask for a radio code to have it functional again.

Cd stuck in my 2002 venture

The only way to address this is to pull the changer out and send it out for repair, the loading mechanism has failed, make sure to send a note that you want the CD's back from the repair shop. Don't go through the dealer, they send it out to an authorized GM electronics repair center same as you will have to do, one diff, they double the repair bill.

There is a CD jammed in the cd player. (6 cd changer) It is a 2004 Ford Escape

It happens to me all the time on my 2002. Try cycling the load and unload buttons for the stuck CD location. If that doesn't work try ejecting the CD. When the slot door opens, try putting another CD into the slot and push on the edge of the stuck CD.
