Wonder who can help me? I went to the shop this morning, the car was fine. when i came out of the shop, and try to start the car. It will start but as soon as i try to excelarate the car will die. it sounds like it is smothering and when i got it to drive it will go ok, but when i try to excelerate it is jurking, i have recently replaced the fuel pump. I am driving a ford escort 1996 fuel injection. Please can someone help me?

Sounds like your battery died on you. Have it checked at an auto parts store for free, also if jump starting the car works but it dies after removing the jumper cables the alternator is bad. Check the battery first as it only takes one bad cell to kill it. Most batteries are only good for a few years, longer if you're lucky. A battery can die on you with no warning sometimes.
Coils and wires are the most likely culprits as they never get replaced hardly ever. You cant really test a coil, you can check for resistance on the plug wires but that doesnt tell you if the insulation is bad on them.
sound like your ABS system. you may have a lose wiring plug some where in the system when the ABS system get active it the system gets all kind of funny things make the car go slow the brakes it brakes it self there is no power in the engine. have your car for a truly electrical check up
it's probably the ignition module. I had a car that did that all the time. I went through everything trying to find the problem and finally came across it. Its usually melted on the bottom or smells burnt when it's bad
Hi there.Hope this can help.On the top of the transmission there's a black electrical plug that the shift linkage goes in..It sounds like the range sensor is out of adjustment..If you try going from reverse to like first or second does it still stall.You may have to get it adjusted.Does the selector in the car where it say P R N D 2 1 Line up with its indicator.
