My 2002 Audit A-6 has stalled twice now at a stop sign. If I wait about 10 minutes it will run. The ESP light also comes on.

The dealership says they are seeing the same problem and that it seems from some sort of synchronization problem between the brakes and the transmission. Is this going to be fxable?

I have the same problem. After a couple of thousand in repairs it still does the same thing. They dealership replaced timing belts, 3 different sensors (one costed $650 for the part alone). My car stalls maybe every other week. So I just deal with it.

I almost died in an Audi A6 turbo diesel, V6.... At 150 km/h on the freeway while I was passing cars the engine stalled and EVERYTHING stopped - power brakes, steering, dash lights, everything. Lucky I could manouvre this monster off to the stopping lane with sheer muscle power - but I hate to think what would've happened if this happens on a normal two-lane road with a truck coming up face to face with me.... Never, never, never again Audi. Any model. Back to Japanese cars...

Hi guys, I have the same problem with my 2005 A6 3.0 tD. My mechanic tells me it's one (or more) of the six injectors, electronic fault... Would cost USD 900 for each of them... total USD 5.400 plus hours... Stuff all that electronics - hatchback doesn't open up, electric hand break broken down... I think I'm just gonna sell that junk and never buy Audi again.

If the vehicle just stopped running with no apparent cause (out of gas??), check for bad crankshaft position sensor. They fail due to heat and age, and will stop a vehicle in its tracks.

1998 Audi Quattro V6: changed battery this a.m. but now stalls at idle and shifts erratically. No power at all. Tried driving it for an hour to let ECM re-learn, but no luck. Thanks, Mike.

MOST OF THE TIME BEST TO LET DEALERSHIP REPROGRAM IDLE BECAUSE STALLING AND WAITING FOR CAR TO RELEARN TO IDLE.CAN BE DANGEROUS.FOR A CAR STALLING OUT AROUND MOVING TRAFFIC.

Brake lights stay on all time on audi a6 2004 model

The brake switch that is located just above the brake pedal is either out of adjustment and button is stuck on and you just need to move it around and put back in place. or the switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Just bought Audi 2002 a6 - how do I change the clock time

The clock adjustment is done with the leftmost knob protruding from the instrument cluster. Pull it toward you and twist to adjust the hour. Pull it again to adjust the minutes.

Audi A6 Quattro - Looses lights

They usually have igniters that will start to give out on the light bulbs. But if they did not find any faults then it would require a long diagnosis time.

2002 Audi A6 - clock adjustment

Hi,

I have the same car, and also don't have a manual. I found out to set the clock, pull lightly on the dial in front of the display. The display will blink and all you need to do is twist slightly to set time, date, etc. Hope this helps! How do you love it so far??
